2 Death Spiral...from Baker Creek aka Rare Seeds.

Possibles from CCN seedlings
2 Chilhaulce Rojo.....red variety
1 Golden Greek
1 7 Pot Madballz

2 Thunder Mountain Longhorn....The guy at one of my favorite Asian restaurants loved them and you cant get them anywhere unless you grow them
.

Still feel like im forgetting one more?

No pics today. mainly because i didnt take the cam with me when i checked plants. Things i noted though......

Antep Aci Dolma (Ford's seeds)......Perfect pheno sofar and quite a few pods getting close to full size. If they keep growing and taste like the last ones i grew before i will be thrilled. Plants love the heat outside.

Joes Long Cayenne from saved seeds. Plant last year came from Juanitos?...i think.......Pods are crazy long this year even though the plants are smaller. Loading up heavy too.

Death Spiral (Baker Creek seeds)...What a beast of a pepper plant. Grows fast and i already got quite a few full sized pods plus many more starting. Pods look wicked.

Numex Orange Spice (NuMex seeds)...cant say im too thrilled other than they are wicked hot good tasting jalapenos. They take forever for the pods to grow.

Bonnie Spicy Slice (Bonnie Seedling)....really nice option if you cant find Mucho Nacho. Longer but smaller around. Not quite as hot....Good jalapeno flavor and good production too.

"Brown Reapers" (Seeds came from Lew's pods)...He bought Carolina Reaper seeds directly from PuckerButt last year. 2 plants produced brown pods but didnt look like Reapers.......These things are producing nodes upon nodes. Its loaded with them. 4-5 buds each. Very slow to start but now they are packing on the foliage. Just starting to flower but if they keep going at this rate production will be insane.

CARDI red Scorpions. (Saved seeds from Juanito seedlings)...Pods look spot on the same as last year and it looks like a bumper crop will follow. Love how fast these plants are packing on foliage and producing wickedly hot pods.

(Chee Wah Lee) Negro...(CCN Seedlings).....Nice production sofar and pheno looks right. Cant wait to sample these peppers. Easily got a dozen+ pods now. Hoping to use these as a base for brown hot sauce and powder blends.

Habanada (CCN Seedling)....This poor thing took forever to grow. Did almost nothing for weeks. Now its a short dense bush. Not tall at all and just starting to produce. Didnt have much hope for it until today. Now it looks SUPER happy.

Aji Oro (Saved seeds from last year)...2 plants look like twins. Short and wide with lots of similar looking pods. Other plant is a little taller with smaller rounder pods. Probably just younger pods actually. Just like last year this variety seems to do just fine in my climate.

Test CARDI in a smaller pot using mushroom compost and Foliage Pro....This guy has more nearly full sized pods than my other ones. Not all that strange for a smaller pot to produce sooner but it dont mind the really high compost mix one tiny bit. Might need a little bit more nitrogen to keep it happy....i think

I will update these notes when i get some time to take pics. Thats all i can think of atm.

Nice pheno from the Ford's seeds

Aji Oro...last one is a really late start. Hornworms hit it twice and its bouncing back now. Probably make this one an overwinter

Test CARDI seems to be fine imo. I mean what more can you ask for from a tiny pot and a media some would cringe at using in a pot

Got my first ripe Scorpion and its nice size. Several more turning as well as some Death Spirals. The big surprise is 1 Scorpion plant is throwing reddish brown pods!!! Last years Scorpion was near my Naglah Brown. Pods look really close to my other Scorpions but the color is much different. It has 2-3 turning and should be ready to pick soon. That plant was one of the last i put out and i had run out of pots. So its in this tiny little pot.

I really love this Scorpion variety for plant growth and production. The Death Spirals from Baker Creek are looking like the will grow and produce almost as well.

Other mentions.....I got one Mexican brown bell ripe but lost a branch on that plant with 6 more pods on it. Aji Oro have several pods nearly ready to pick. Joes Long Cayenne are turning but ive lost several pods to rot and drop in the heat. They sure are LONG this year though. Several storms have been rough on pod heavy plants like Aji Amarillo. Ive lost quite a few pods off them. The "Reapers" from Lewis's mutant brown plant are rather large pods for Reapers. Only a few have a similar shape. Still too early to tell what color i will get but the 3 plants look great.

Im waiting for some cloud cover to get better pics and its just damn hot outside. By the time im done watering i need to cool off in the ac. Looks like possible rain the next few afternoons so hope to get update pics soon.

PIC DAY!!!

No idea what im gunna do with 500+ supers let alone just the pods from 7 Scorpions all loaded up.

I got 5? Death Spirals loaded like this i think

Possible CARDI Scorpion and Naglah Brown (MWCH seeds) cross. Sofar i dont see any other plants/pods with the reddish brown.

This little habanada is doing great. Finally got plenty of nice pods on it.

Mystery plant. Last year Lewis grew Reapers from seeds that came directly from PuckerButt. These plants are from his seeds. Reaperish but larger pods sofar and tons of them.

Curiosity is a biotch in a black dress and stilettos. This cross while not quite the hottest ive tasted is up there. Just as vile as any brownish super pod i ever sampled fresh.

The Death Spiral is maybe 50% as hot but my mouth was already ruined. Plus i only sampled the tips from both pods. Flavor was far more enjoyable.

We got another massive down pour yesterday. I knew it was coming so all plants got a good shot of Chick N Poo granules. These CARDI Scorpions (from last years Juanitos seedlings seeds) are just screaming hot. Easily in the top 3 i ever tasted. The brown cross or whatever the hell it is...is probably just as hot. I just cant get past the flavor of most brown supers unless dried. The one plant that is throwing off brownish pods is tiny but has maybe 7 pods on it. I almost tossed it because it was an extra no one wanted. I got it a little ways away from all the other chinense and will save seeds for next year.

I cut open the only ripe Chilhuacle Negro for the seeds. What a wonderful smelling pepper. Losing a branch with 6-7 pods on it is gunna really hurt my numbers. Very hard peppers to find online dried or powder. When you can find them they are $25 for 4oz.. I have one Chilhuacle Rojo also from Chileplants. Its larger and doing fine but nothing ripe yet. Im not really a mole fan but this might make a really interesting "Oaxacan birria". I use beef shanks or chuck instead of goat most the time. Much easier to get and cheaper.

Got my first ripe Habanada. I may have finally found a "sweet habanero" worth growing. Pod is nicer size than other "dulces" ive grown in the past.

Couple more scorchers too. I got to say im extremely pleased with the Death Spiral seeds from Baker Creek. All the plants are just great so far and pods are beautiful.

I got a nice but smaller haul of Death Spiral this morning. What a wonderful super. Many many pods with tails and consistent pheno/plant quality from the Baker Creek seeds. Got another brown "Reaper" today too. The thing is big. Slightly Reaper shaped but no tail. It is however quite brown. I need to get a good count of Reaper-ish shaped pods so i got a better idea of what i need to save for seed stock. Only 1 ripe sofar has a really nice shape and tail. All the reddish pods did get more brown.

No heat at all i can detect from the Chee Wah Lee Rojo. :( but they taste fine fresh. Flavor is more bell like than anything.

Pics later after more coffee.

Ohhhh, almost forgot....Your aji amarillo are DELICIOUS!!!! I got my first ripe one the other day. Cut it up and ate it fresh. Not much heat with the seeds removed. These should make a stellar amarillo paste for aji de gallina.

Another mystery Reaper pod for seeds

More brown Mex bells and a couple odd Early Flame jalas. The ripe one is super fat but all of them out there are fat/short pods.

NuMex Orange. I still cant get over how hot these suckers are.

Pretty much every Death Spiral has a tail. I think this is gunna be my main super for next year. They are just solid all the way around. Good heat/flavor, pretty large pods and plenty of them.

Those are some gnarly looking peppers.  How would you describe the flavor?  I looked them up on Baker Creeks site and they describe them as "floral".  If so, that rules them out for me.  For some reason I just don't like the floral taste.

Habanada are coming in now. Nice sized pods with no heat but tasted quite a bit like a sweet habanero. I will have to try them again next year to see if i can get a little larger plant. LOTS of pods on the little guy though.

I sowed Habanada recently just for that reason
