food Smoke Somethin

Just got a couple trays of peach pods on, now I have a pile of reds, and a pile of whites left. And a giant pile of un-ripe/half-ripe. I'm ready to be done with peppers for the year.

The seeds shake out of the dried pods kinda easy. I think it was ShowMeTheSauce who posted a good seed removal technique. Put your dried pods into a Tupperware bowl and shake the beejesus out of it. The seeds fall out of the pods pretty good [emoji16]

I already crushed them up, I was thinking about maybe a mortar and pestle, then running it through a screen.
I was really just wondering if it would make the powder taste better if I got a majority of the seed out. Or if I should just grind them on into the powder

Would those seeds be still viable ..... not a method I have ever used normally just dry on kitchen towel

Thanks in advance

I’m not sure. I dry my seeds on a paper plate at room temperature.

I guess I missed this. Thee seeds that have been smoked are probably gonna be about 0% germination I would guess. If your dehydrator has a temperature setting then I think the seed is good up to a little over 100° don't quote me though

Grinding supers isnt very fun! Wasn't getting very far between coughing/sneezing fits and then rehashing my hands, so I thought the towel would help. It did, but when I got to the batch that was mostly reapers, primos, and primo/lemon drop I coughed inside the towel and it blew the powder (that must have landed on the top edge of the towel) straight into met eyes. I still have a quart bag of smoked Sri lankans, I should have done them first, cause I gave up after the red superhot batch. My whole face was on fire.
If you cant tell, I think

I need a respirator and some goggles for next year, like Trent does it.

Got my rotisserie up and running! A guy on the weber forum sent me a spit for a gas grill, and I used the grinder and a file to make a round spot to ride on my 22"ring.

I tossed on a 14lb turkey, but I didnt tie the legs or wings up. About a half hour in I heard some clunking. One of the legs had come loose and flipped one of my charcoal baskets upside down. So I added another fork on the spit, with the legs crossed through there. Worked perfectly after that.
