So you had a stroke: gimme your guns

I was just speaking in general to your mentality and what you said about your brain. I know you're no where near stupid. Not specifically about the CIA and JFK.

We were very clearly instructed to follow an unlawful order.

Maybe in your time. For me it was "Follow orders. unless theyre unlawful."

Not so clear really.

Might also be different branches.  I was army 83-87.  I know there was a training thing with FEMA where different branches were ordered to fire blank ammunition at fake civilians.  Only the marine corp flat refused, turning their weapons on the officer from another branch that gave the order.  From what I understand, the marines get the constitution flat drilled into their heads from day one.

On smarts: I have serious challenges with language.  Was once ordered by a police officer to 'don't move' and then 'get out of the car' so quickly that my brain froze.  He drug me out the car and threatened to charge me with obstruction for not getting out the car.  I was completely honest when I told him I was trying to figure out which I should do.  That made him think I was a smart ass.  Not at all, just confused and kind of scared of getting shot.

Note to self: While driving in OH, if an officer asks you if you have any weapons or drugs in the car begin your explanation by saying something like "In a completely legal capacity, with a permit and a prescription...."

Not sure what to say.  On one hand there are the rapes and other abuses which took place at Abu Ghraib.  These point to a military without discipline or respect for either the constitution or the UCMJ.  On the other hand, I believe the soldiers involved were severely punished.  So I can not think the military itself has changed that much.  Maybe just an influx of young people.

In my day, we were instructed that it was our sworn duty to protect prisoners of war even if their forces would not do the same for you.  If we have really slipped that far, it is horribly sad.  I really feel a nation has a soul which is judged as are our individual souls.  None too sure god is happy with folk who rape and sodomize children even when they are prisoners of war.
