soil Soil Activator?

Has anyone ever added something similar to this to their potting mix or know much about this sort of stuff?

Naked Farmer Organic Soil Activator

I'm considering giving it a burl but I'm wondering if perhaps it would be a tad bit overkill in a 1 part compost / 1 part composted bark mix.

Opinions?

Wouldn't it be yabba dabba doo-doo? That being said..... I would think there would be enough beneficial microbes in normal compost anyway. If you are worried about your soil / potting mix, give it a shot of compost or compost tea.

Aye, Danny Boy, true. After doing a bit of research, I find out there is plenty carbon in good compost anyway.

At this point in time, at least until I do some more research, I thinks I will save my moolah.

I use something similar: John & Bob's Soil Activator, which is screened leonardite. I use it in my native soil, but not in potting soil. It was expensive, and I still question whether homemade compost gets the same result.

Ah, yeah, I googled leonardite and it definitely looks like the same stuff, Pash. And yeah, pretty much what I am questioning too.

I might mix it into just one batch soon and see if it makes any noticeable difference.....
