I will most likely have a bunch of leftovers in a few weeks if you want me to send a few over.

Well they named it that to keep the conquistadors unaware of its common usewildseed57 said:yeah it is a holy cactus, you bump into it and that is what happens, you become holy. I have become holy several times ouch!!
I wonder if S. pyracanthum has any problems with insects? It looks like it has more thorns than it has edible matter for insects.
Yes! I may have some other nightshades you might be interested in as well, I'll send you a PM in a bitmillworkman said:I will most likely have a bunch of leftovers in a few weeks if you want me to send a few over.
I understand what you are saying, although I think you are looking at the small picture. You are talking about Solanums in N.America, specifically ones that are full of confusion ie. nigrum complex.Helvete said:Most solanum species are only edible when cooked keep in mind. Unripe berries of many of them can kill you in a violent diarrhea fashion. Like S. dulcamara or S. carolinense
Sorry to hear that Noah. I had no issue with pyracanthum germinating and actually culled a few and shipped one to a friend. The atropurpureum is a bastard though and taunted me a bit. They have a weird hull over the seed. It is another crazy plant and I should have some photos of that one in the coming months.millworkman said:I had no luck sprouting the seeds you sent me John, BUT... I ordered a bunch of fun ones and will be sending you some back. Mainly, s. atropurpureum.

Professionals can't even identify them properly let alone prove they are poisonous. Millions of people consume black nightshades and have for centuries.
The dulcamara and carolinense should be avoided,I agree, but then again,I don't think you should eat any of them.

I must have had some issues with my germinating process this year as i have suffered quite a bit all across the board. Hopefully will get some to pop up sooner rather than later.
GORGEOUS!

That is a beautiful plant indeedPr0digal_son said:
