+1 - why would anyone do that to something so delicious-looking? The only redeeming quality of the olive is that they're easy to pick & flick.
Call me funny - I am having a hard time distinguishing this topic from Drunken Chef.  Is it because you're not photographing the booze in here? I know it's there - might as well drop it into the pics.

They're incredibly heavy.  My grandfather had one from the seventies.  I helped him moved it one day and I thought I was going to give myself a hernia.
