South (Cajun) Louisiana here- Howdy All

Hello all,
I came across this site by accident and boy am I glad I did. Here in South La. (Cajun Country) the Tabasco and Cayenne are very popular.
I cannot believe the numbers of people in here, making and bottling their own sauces. Really gonna enjoy reading all the post here.

Hey what part of South Lou?

Not far from New Orleans - Bayou LaFourche Cajun here.
I grew one Cayenne and one Anaheim this year. Just retired and added the pepper plants to the tomatoes and cucumbers when I planted. Have been using the cayenne to pickle. When I grew up all the older folks always had a bottle of hot peppers steeping in a bottle of vinegar sitting on the table as a regular everyday spice for beans, gumbos, etc. I have enjoyed puting up bottles of pickled peppers and look forward to learning from this site to plant many more plants next year.

Welcome from Fort Worth

assuming you are not in Bayou LaFourche now since you said close to 'nawlins

Welcome from PA. I have to say that you have probably my favorite cuisine in the world there in LA. I was fortunate enough to spend a week in Shreveport/Bossier City a couple years ago.
