Spicegeist 2014 - The Year of the Bhut

This year I'm growing primarily bhut/naga types.

Not much to look at now, but thought I'd kick things off since I'm already starting seeds:

Here's my list:
  1. Red Bhut
  2. Choco Bhut
  3. Yellow Bhut
  4. Peach Bhut
  5. Shabu Jolokia
  6. Naga King
  7. Naga Morich
  8. Naga Suomi
  9. Dorset Naga
  10. Guwahati Bhut
  11. Pale Bhut / Bih Jolokia
  12. Jay's Peach
  13. Fatalii
  14. Lota Bih
  15. C. galapagoense

Great looking plants and photos, Charles.
I grew several Dorset's last year and all but one produced consistent variety-typical pods.
They were vigorous plants and productive. I don't recall any furriness. It may not have registered with me though -first year growing and all.

Got the yard work done for today, rearranged the plants out in the Kennel and got the pics taken.. So here we go! First off is the sonoran tepin x 7pot barrackpore and the rest..

These all have been under the T8 light fixtures and look way better than the ones that were grown under the T5 light fixture...

Wow, these look really incredible!  So nice to see you growing all of these varieties.

:onfire:

You can see traits of both chacoense and chinense in the CAP 501 x Bhut.  I'm pretty sure you're the only person growing the Aji Cristal x Cumari Pollux... if you get those to fruit, I'll be asking you for some of the F3 seed... the rest is really great too, great work!

Yeah, I actually spotted another plant with the fuziness, a Naga Suomi...

How did you like the flavor of the Dorset Nagas?  Were you able to compare with other Naga and Bhut types?

They had a distinctive, likable flavor. I would call it a "high floral", almost "too floral" as oppose to fruity or smoky. They were my first taste of a super hot ever actually. They seem best to me in a powder blend. I came to prefer Fatallis, plain ol' red Bhuts, and yellow 7s better. Mine were started late, came up all with helmet heads, but produced first and more on average than any other of my supers. I'm anxious to try the Naga King next year.

I was able to start most of my plants at the same time this year, the Dorset has really grown better than the others.  If the fruits turn out nice, I think this will become a staple of mine...

Wow, I wish my plants came out less than half as good as yours. I have a long long way to go to be a master like you.

Those galapagoense look far too sexy than most pics I've seen online :D.

Please let me be your disciple Lol. :D

Dude!!! All of those crosses are looking killer!!

I instantly fell in love with that CAP 501 x Bhut, nice balance of traits from both sides. Nice job on that one.

Your tepin x 7 pot look close to mine with that chinense look, can't wait to see it pod up! :D.

My CAP 501 x Donne sali is outside with the big boys and it's definitely improving but slow. I still have about 2.5 months til we have inferno temps here. Hope it can get big faster otherwise it's gonna be til fall if see pods maybe... well see.

Nice looking plants, it won't be much longer until they get to stay outside. May is just around the corner!

Looks great.  Mine are branching out too.

Got the same thing going on here. Easily by biggest plant. Thinking about trying to get him in the dirt tomorrow. I've stopped pinchin buds.

Looks like mixing the annuum and chinense genes is yielding some strong growers Charles. Wonder if the pods will mature faster than your normal supers.
