No ladybugs? is that possible!? when you don't have any ladybugs, how do you get your insect porn?

Lady Bugs?

Do you have another suggestion? I need to do something today - before this gets out of hand.
Maybe you should try lady bugs? They seem to love eating aphids. Talk to your local nursery to find out where you can buy them.

Ok. This is what I could find:

Method: Go Naked

HELL YEAH!

*starts ripping off shirt*

Hey, how come no one else is getting naked?

How come you're all staring at me?

The other thing I found is a product by GardenSafe that contains pyrethrin (from chrysanthemum flowers) and canola oil. Apparently pyrethrin is one of the safest insecticides for vegetables because it breaks down so quickly and is inert towards mammals.

That sounds like good stuff.

That said, I'm going to use the hand soap. If after a few weeks its getting worse or killing my plants, I'll use the stronger stuff.

Just remember to repeat every 3 or 4 days until you get all the little bitches. Treat the soil surface lightly, too. They start jumping off the plant when they sense danger.

Sure will. I got it in a spray bottle. Since so many of my guys haven't sprouted yet, that's what I'm doing mostly. Just spraying soil.

yea, i said soap instead of neem or pyrethrin cuz the plants are babies. it only works on contact, the residue won't even deter them, so thats why you have to keep doing it for a few days but you wipe it off after cuz too much residue will eventually hurt the plants.

Just checking to see if you were telling the truth about cold sharp pointed metallic objects sticking in your most tenderest parts..

Ladybugs are a no-go. These little guys are growing in my basement. Can't introduce predatory bugs, as much as I'd like to.

You already have aphids/plants in your basement, why no ladybugs? They're pretty benign.

seems like Pablo and I are on the same track here...thinking alike...

c y'all later...gong to deliver some seedlings to a buddy of mine...back afterwhile...

So use the soap solution every day for a few days, or every 3 days?

How should I wipe it off? With a wet tissue or something? My plants are so small!

gently... maybe a q-tip? i've never had to do this with a plant so young, so use your discretion...

the damn aphids are born pregnant so you just can't spray once and forget about it, it doesn't have to be every day i guess (better to give the planties a rest i suppose) so once every two or three days ought to do it. see how the babies tolerate it, if there's no problem go for a third spray, if they have issues stop at two.
