SPITFIRE

Finished another plane...one of the sexiest warbirds ever...Spitfire MkIIb...heavily modified from it's original version.

Corsair, but who's to judge sexy? Wow what a project you two! Your boy looks happy and that's what matters!

Parkzone Spitfire (1st gen) MkIIb makeover -

Modifications: (in case you understand what the hell any of this means)Brushless 2217/9 (1050kv) otrunner, 25a esc, 8ch Futaba RX (running 6 channels, to include split ailerons), rudder, scale split-flaps, custom paint, fiberglassed airframe...and the best part...26oz. AUW...that's 3oz lighter than stock!

Have seen them being flown with the six channel, but only ever had a flew 4's. If the economy ever gets back up I will have to get a 6 channel. The closer to actually controlling everything like the pilot the better. IMO

Heehee, 3oz is quite an achievement. Whats that in scale!?

LOL...shaving 3 oz, and adding flaps, rudder, and fiberglassing the whole thing...pretty damn good! I don't know what the actual scale is, but the wingspan is 1 meter/39+ inches. I flew it back when it had a brushed motor, and 3ch...with a single servo operating the ailerons. Not sure how I got so much lighter on this, although the factory plasticote weighed 2.3oz...so I guess I made up the weight with the new brushless motor, and modern receiver and servos. Still...it's packed with a total of 5 servos versus the original 2...and the old motor was a brick.

Here's more of my warbirds:

I love them! Be careful with this first time it will be fast im thinkin.

It should be a little faster...but I put a smaller motor in than most do. The P-47 on the other hand...has a 2.5m wing span, and a motor for a MUCH larger plane. It will be a rocket when I work up the balls to fly it. Funny enough, the airframe was virtually free. A guy crashed the shit out of it, and sent it to me in 14 pieces...so I fiberglassed it, and rebuilt.

Beautiful plane and you did her proud.

I can't say sexiest though, that belongs to the P-51D.

The P-51B is much hotter...and just like a real woman, even though the B wasn't as functional as the D, it was prettier. ;)

I'm not really a Stang fan anyway, although I do have a D.

I flew the US Army Beaver at the top of the group shot...and finally greased a landing (in other owrds, it was a perfect landing). My first fixed-gear landing that didn't suck, and require me to glue something back in place.
