Yum! What u got?

Has anyone here ever cooked their steak using the dirty steak method? You don't have to put all the stuff this guy does on the steak but the method of just putting it straight on the coals is the dirty method...
IMO there are only two ways to cook a steak unless it is wagyu, dirty steak method or using my wife's 23 year old cast iron skillet....I will shut up and show my skills next time we eat steak for sure, just saw this thread...:)

Perfectly cooked, which powder did you use?
Just the superhot blend you sent me awhile back. And I dusted it after it was cooked. The wife can't handle the heat. I used half of the steak for burrito bowls that night. The rest was sliced into a steak sandwich lunch a few days later.

this started in the DC, it's DM ... drunken marinade.

smack.

just drained the dressing and oj from the second london broil, so as to not unintentionally ceviche this time. the naga is definitely "there" ...
Busted out the weber on Monday for some reverse sear ribeye, sorry no hot stuff, but lots of meaty goodness

this is beautiful.

thankfully, no ceviche pre-cookery this time for the experiment (smaller one) ...

was fairly successful at creating a higher temp scenario in the kettle tonight by using a skewed amount of Kingsford in the two CS's and allowing for some barely ignited briquets for the few minutes while the grate got heated ...

Which steak will win?????????????

I'm going for the less altered, basic s&p, grilled, and add what you want later. Not big into the marinades and sauces before.

well, i would agree ... the entire purpose of this is to create slices of beef for eating in salads, in case that context change helps make more sense of it ... you'll see (maybe) ...

i'm going to do a delmonico dirty later this week, which would be more comparable ... lump didn't make it in time for this weekend, nor did smokenator, so this happened ...

I say for pictoral purposes, Cypress wins in a landslide, but on a taste note, I am not counting out Gadget.  Of course, that wood fire might trump the marinade.  Hmmm, we will have to wait and see.
