If I wash rinse and sanitize (star San ) my bottles, do I have to expand the step further and bake my bottles in the oven? Or am I good to go once I hot fill?
Every article I have read points to sanitization DOES NOT equal sterilization. I am not a scientist or even close to an expert. Everything I have read says that sterilization is sanitation on steroids. It is taking sanitization one step forward .
I suppose sanitization could refer to just "cleaning". Regardless though, I think we're all after the same thing, 0 chance of infection from stray bad fungus & bacteria. For brewing we use starsan which does accomplish this. I also use it for hot sauce making along with heating the mash immed prior to bottling
I'M WASH AND STAR SAN HERE,THEN SPRAY AND GO, IF OUT OF STAR SAN...... I DO THE WASH AND BLEACH BUCKET 24 HOURS THEN A 24 HOUR SOAK IN FRESH WATER AND PACK.
