Successful Cross Pollination?

Just wondering if anyone has any success stories to share about cross pollination in their home gardens. I've heard mixed results about the possible outcomes but interested to hear some fist hand accounts.

thanks for the replies. for the most part I'm speaking of pepper on pepper cross, but would crossing peppers with other fruits and vegetables, like a tomato maybe?

I have a lot of pepper plants growing in close proximity to each other and was curious if I should expect any surprises next year if I use the seeds? By the sounds of it, it's rare. Have people had similar experiences to FiveStar with "surprise" cross breeding?

There's always a possibility of crosses unless you're bagging flowers to prevent cross pollination. The closer your plants are together, the greater the likelihood of crosses will be. As far as other solanaceous plants crossing with your peppers... Not gonna happen.
