most normal people would of told their wife to return it or returned it themselves, instead of keeping it.

I had jerky that HAD to go in.

But no sweat, your insinuation that I lack intelligence or that I am not normal coming from you is no laughable.

How can there be two votes on the "I am OMRI and I get free dehydration in the summer... " option? I know I voted once. is there another Omri here?

oh jeez cheez, you're reading into my quote too much!
I never meant nor said you lacked intelligence, you also never said (until now) about you having some jerky that NEEDED to be dried over the past couple weeks when you've mentioned about your wife buying that POS dehydrator.

I think you also said it only had a light bulb, w/o a fan. then in your post you mention the thought of adding a fan.

ok ok,I should of said "most" instead of "normal" because yes most people wouldnt want to spend money on a POS item, when theres better things out there & most likely it was sitting right next to the POS item on the same shelf or just go to a different store down the road & get a better item.

dont know what type of city you live in but normally theres several big name stores within a couple miles of each other (if not across the road of each other) & you might of been able to hold off on drying for 1 more hour until you got a better dehydrator.
I would of told her as soon as I opened the box, return it! or I would of. like you even said its a POS! why waste money on something like that ?

no offense meant.

Don't you know by now????

I have called you a friend in several threads and I mean it.

Like me (but maybe less often;)) you speak your mind, and sometimes it sounds a little gruff.

No worries Brother!

I gave you a suitable introduction to a noob in the welcome forum!;)

Bought a Nesco

Nesco® American Harvest® Snackmaster® Encore™ Dehydrator and Jerky Maker Model # FD-61. 500 watts - it was $59.99 at Bed Bath & Beyond and since they send me a 20% off coupon about every week, I finally went in there and got it. The coupon knocked almost another $12 off the price. This will be my 1st experience in drying anything. I have a few freezer bags full of pods and could use the space. Any tips? Can I mix different peppers on different trays or do the flavors tend to meld together that way? I'll report on my experience with it later.

Ronco is the piece of shite my wife got at Target.

Unbelieveable waste of $. I seriously considered taking it apart and adding a fan somehow.

The Ronco is a bare-bones, no-fan, no-thermostat dehydrator. That being said, it's cheap, and it works.....though not too quickly. For my purposes (and budget, as a med student) it got me through last summer just fine.....and have enough dried/ground nagas and habs to get me through until next harvest.
