I saw that issue discussed this morning on a tech (TWIT) show. It definitely struck a nerve. We make a lot of guacamole in my house, and usually keep it simple for our daughters. I think peas might be good for variation - provided they are sugar snap peas taken fresh from the pod. I've got some of those in the garden right now.

There are a bunch of salsas out there.  Hell, here on the east coast there are crab salsas and they kick ass!   I happen to like the black bean and corn salsa (to each his own), but peas in guac?  I question it. I guess it is trying to go along the lines of chick peas and hummus, but I dunno.  I'd have to try it to say for sure, but I'm certainly skeptical.

I don't think i'm allergic to corn but i'm def sensitive to it. 
 
Cornchips usually wreck my stomach. I don't even touch kernal corn

the word "salsa" is equivalent to the word "sauce", and can contain anything and everything!  INCLUDING black beans and CORN!!!!

But like all other sauces, there are many different recipes for guacamole.  I didn't look at the linked recipe to see if it was avo and peas or just peas.  To split hairs, I think it would have to contain at least some avo to be called guac.
 
Like JayT, I'd have to taste it before kicking it to the curb.

Lol my boss announced he doesn't like mango salsa or guacamole ... I've disowned him... Made a really good batch of mango salsa last night by the way. Mango, 2 limes, red onion, green onion and aji pineapples, criolla sella and aji Omnis. Little sea salt.
