The road to DWC - ups, downs, info, failure, success, guidance....

the milky cloudy water remains. The ph is steady and the ppm is slightly dropping. The plants grow like crazy! Still don't know whats causing that cloudy water. Theliveculture, were are you!?! :D

What's up Mr. Norwegian chili!

Been away from the forum for a few days.

Cloudy nutrient solution can be from a few different sources:

Internal reservoir temperature exceeding 72° farenheit.

Light penetration through your lid top or through your hydroton grow media.

High salt buildup from nutrient solution.

Using ph up and ph down in the same solution.

If using cal mag, it should be the first thing to add to the reservoir then nutrient solution.

I would start with the basics. check your temp. Hold your lid up to a powerful light to see if it "glows". Wash your buckets out with bleach then rinse them 2-3 times afterwards.

Hope this helps.

Awesome bro!
Internal reservoir temperature exceeding 72° farenheit.
Currently 23 degrees and stable

Light penetration through your lid top or through your hydroton grow media.
They are 100% light proof, and the cups are filled to the edge

High salt buildup from nutrient solution.
Might be! How can I check that? Would that not show on increasing ppm?

Using ph up and ph down in the same solution.
Only using down, and not much. The tap water is around 7PH

If using cal mag, it should be the first thing to add to the reservoir then nutrient solution.
No CalMag yet. Epson salt, foliage spray

Its only one bucket affected. Its growing as normal and dark green color.
