The Subway Foot-long Face-off Challenge

Well well well, what do you know. I found fresh habs at the grocery store today. I just put a few of these down to gauge the challenge and for the moment I think I am going to gracefully bow out. The heat wasn't really a problem, but fresh peppers in large quantities always seem to put my stomach off. After 3 of the bigger ones, my stomach let me know that a fourth wasn't a great idea. I think I will throw 10 of them on an Italian Beef sandwich tomorrow and see if it sits any better in my stomach.

I think what scares me the most about the whole thing is the fact that I can't stand Subway's food. Then there is the 100% chance of getting squished habs in my nose and eyes, which kind of steers me away as well. Are goggles and nose-clamps allowed?

Mrs.GhostPepperStore had a few choice words about the whole thing also :P , LDHS, be prepared for her to post insulting comments on your Facebook wall (She thinks you are sick in the head for planning this, BTW) Just kidding, we think its an awesome contest.

Feel free to commence to calling me names and throwing insults my way for being a big wuss!

She isn't really going to post to your Facebook, I think she just threatened it because she knows I avoid Facebook like the plague.

I think the whole challenge is totally doable, and I really like the fact that it doesn't involve super high SHU peppers. The prizes are irresistable to boot!

Yeah - that was why when we lowered it from 20 I couldn't go lower than 15 or it'd be like giving away the prizes. And those prizes are way too phat for that!

And remember - there's a full 2 weeks after the sign up period (another 5 days on top of that) to obtain some. Someone around here could easily ship you a SFRB of habs from a local Safeway or Lucky's - the peppers would cost $1-2 and the postage like $5.50? Bam!

I don't want to promise just yet. We'll see how frustrated I am with the local grocer before I trust any of you not to send me a hab with extra capsaicin secretly injected in it. ;)
Besides, it'll take me two weeks to figure out how to download it to YouTube. :)

Double Fail for me- not only did I forget the instruction sheet to HabbyHeat, I wasn't going to tell him what was on the way in the little prize box. :doh:

HH, who was the :evil: for, you me or the sauce? :lol: I told some people (bloggers) I was going to bring them some cookies or brownies to have at their booth at the NM Fiery Food Show. They're stoked! Obviously they haven't seen footage of the 2012 NWCF..... :halo:

There'll be some others jumping into the contest. LDHS, do you want me to post it on FB Chileheads?
