Is it normal for one of these things to make two webs? There's one near my garden that has one web on a balcony, and a single strand that connects it to a lower one on a window. It runs between the two depending on where the bugs landed.

This one had two webs covering 4 plants and was full after eating so many bad bugs! I do not know the species off-hand. My bug and MACRO knowledge has suffered the last 2 years :(

Pisses me off but still makes me smile.

Wow, that is one doomed catepillar/hornworm?

Cool shots, Chris!

Are they some sort of parasitic wasp eggs on the previous 2 catepillar/hornworm shots?

These little guys are what got me hooked on macro photography. They are called Peacock spiders and are part of the jumping spider family.
They only appear in Sept - November (breeding season). I've found two different species at home in the backyard :D

This shot is not mine but I put it in to give you an idea of how small these spiders are:

It's raining here today so I thought I'd resurrect this thread and post a new pic. Here's a nifty little jumping spider for y'all to look at. Don't you just love seeing these guys on the job? Spiders are so amazing.

Cool shot, mate :P It looks like a type of Phidippus.

Thank you. Believe it or not, it's a cell phone pic. One of those times where everything came together to make for a decent photo. Doesn't happen often. Your shots are spectacular! Beautiful small spider and the macros are great. Makes me want to dig out the Canon and get a lens for it.

This was a tough shot to get. The little bugger wouldn't stay still and light was fading.

Still, pics aren't too bad even if they are just from my phone camera.

All these guys are bundled up in their fuzzy webs around here. Whenever I find one in a snow region I put them in a cold room to sleep through the winter. It's gonna be a shitstorm when they wake up though. They really don't like being moved without knowing where beforehand.
