The Watchmen: yr. thoughts?

Saw it. Liked it. Thought they did a pretty good job of translating this "un-filmable" comic book series into a nearly 3 hour movie.

On the other hand, I can see how hardcore fans could nit-pick it to death. I haven't read the whole thing in 20 or so years so....I guess I wasn't super picky about the changes.

Overall....better than I expected.

caveat emptor: needs more calamari.

good to know it's not a bomb i wanna see it as i read the graphic novel (years ago) and still have it! I suppose now the CGI can do the story some justice.
And good to know it's not another hollywood spewed out hour and a half film.

I am going to see it on the weekend.....I never read the comics so I am just going to watch and enjoy it....

when ever a comic is transformed into a movie you will always have people poo poo it and not be happy......They can't always please everyone and it's all about the money at the end of the day.......but good to know that they tried to stay as true as possible to the comics

A fan of the comic, didn't see the movie yet.
"...all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us"... and I'll look down and whisper "no"..."

Havent seen it yet either hope to this weekend
"I shall go and tell the indestructible man that someone plans to murder him."

The dude who played Rorschach absolutely nailed it. Best thing about the whole movie IMO.

I agree with you. I thought it was a good movie as well. Not great but a solid film. Definitely worth a watch. Rorschach was great. I sat there going who is this guy I know him from somewhere. Then I realized...The Bad News Bears.

Ok, I went and re-read the whole series (it's been about 15 years) and then went and saw the film. They did a fantastic job but I didn't like that they eliminated some stuff and changed the ending, but in some ways you have to make a comprimise.

Probably the best comic to film adaptation I've ever seen.
