Throw Heat's 2024 Pain Factory

This thread is going to be a photo dump of my 2024 season. Expect lots and lots of photos as things progress throughout the summer.

Luna is already on guard duty just 2 days after transplanting.

Big Olive Mama. This was a personal favorite from 2023, and I knew I had to grow them again this year.

MA Purple. This is my first year growing this variety. I'm definitely loving the purple foliage on this one.

White Knight. This was a freebie seed pack that was thrown in with one of my orders, and since I seem to have incredible luck with freebie seeds, I had to grow them this year.

nice dog ❀️
chilli plants look good as well :D

That's my Luna-tic. She is deaf and a little bit on the crazy side, but she is still a great dog. She has been a loyal companion and my shadow for almost 9 years now. She just isn't really meant for polite society.

And speaking of that photo, yesterday I learned that posting pictures of pets with pepper plants violates an unwritten rule on r/HotPeppers.

tough titty - go ahead and post pics of Luna, that arsehole isn't on here any more

Oh, he was a member of THP at one point? I scrolled through a little bit of his Reddit post history, and there were so many red flags. So nothing of value was really lost by him blocking me. And if he isn't on this forum anymore, GOOD.πŸ˜‚

Time for a quick update. We had a little cold spell for a few days a couple weeks back, and it really seemed to slow down the growth on all of my plants. But after our recent heat wave, and some conveniently timed rain storms, my plants are finally starting to stretch out and do what they do.

Once I do some pruning and staking, I will take a bunch more photos. But for now...

Is that dude just someone commenting or is he an admin? Sounds like a shitty group. FB too has some weird ass people on those pepper groups. People getting all upset like you smacked their mom's ass or something.

He was just someone commenting. But then he did me a favor by blocking me. So it's all good.

And between Reddit and the groups on FB, there are a lot of overly opinionated chile growers with bad advice and even worse opinions.

I grew it just because of the name, but after trying some yesterday, I will definitely be growing that variety again. Chunky pods, decent amount of heat, and the plant I'm growing is a productive one as well. It checks all of the boxes.

This photo was taken on Sunday.

And this is the same pod earlier today.

Once this Chocolate Primotalii finishes ripening, who wants to watch me do yo-yo tricks while sampling pieces of this pepper?:fireball:
