contest Throwdown Smacktalk

Bad assumption dude, I was fishing for info about peoples taste in food and got the answer I hoped for.

I like ANY opportunity to slag off raw tomato, It used to drive my Grandpa nuts.

For the record I love salsa.

Anyone who knows my wife will testify that she will go out of her way to ensure I lose, It's been like that since the day we met. In fact if your saw my vid when i tried the afterburner sauce you will here her calling me a whimp cause she didn't think I had enough sauce on the spoon so I had to top it up. She is not going to enter this competition but she may enter the next and she wont vote in this one either.

Lay off the paranoid smoke dude ;)

My bad. Ain't throwin' no HATE. My "three sheets" read April as Geeme's sister... missed the context. Nonetheless, I still have the sneakin' suspicion that SL and Geeme are trying to hoodwink us!

Nah, team up! At least THEN I might, just MIGHT, have some competition...
As far as 'shrooms go, Ive done some things Im not proud of myself when I was younger, but Ive ALWAYS disliked mushrooms. For ME, its the tast and texture. Mainly the texture. I wont go out of my way to order anything with mushrooms. But if its a dish like salisbury steak, etc, I will eat it. If its on a "good" pizza, I wont pick it off. But will I purposely put mushrooms on ANYTHING I eat? Nope!

My "intuition" card has been vibrating for a while. If we're playin' "Clue", I'd say that SL and Geeme know each other, and "April" is on the sidelines for the swing vote. I'm smelling conspiracy. Come clean SL... is there an East WA Posse???

SumBits! You WOUND me! Haven't you been paying attention? I'd no sooner team up with a Noobie than....well...I dunno what! Besides, geeme is in Ohio, totally not qualified for our Posse. And she's been getting The Corrector just like the other noob JoeyK.

SL... Should we call it Rain-Shadow Posse instead? Holla back.

We're the "West Coast Outlaws" or the Northwest Gang. I'm on the DRY side of the state, no Rain-Shadow here...only SUNSHINE!

Actually .... I have yet to receive The Corrector. Go on, I'll wait while you go back through this thread and check it out....

Okay, SL, just a little edumacation here: The Cascades act as an orographic barrier to the moist air mass coming off the Pacific - they effectively stop the rain from hitting the Eastern side of them. This causes what is called a rain-shadow effect, which is basically a shadow from the rain - lots of sunshine gets through because it's basically the opposite of a sun shadow. So yes, you have lots of sunshine and dryness because you have a rain shadow. Little factoid - the world's driest desert, the Atacama, is a rain shadow desert, and it gets less than half an inch of rain a year.

Ok geeme, I'll take your explanation,

but it makes more sense to think that the clouds pile up against the Cascades and shadow the coastal and Puget Sound areas from the sun and wherever there is the shadow of a cloud, they get the rain. LOL-

"Did you know snow comes up? From the ground, like the flowers and then the wind blows it around so it just looks like it's coming down." (ten points if anyone knows what show that is from! )

I'll make sure to get you caught up with The Corrector very soon! :)

I used to despie mushies growing up, but now I appreciate the flavour and texture. Not a huge fan, but they have their place. I love fresh raw 'mater sliced thick, sprinkle of sea salt, fresh ground black pepper and a drizzle of good olive oil! The food I can't stand is any and all types of offal. Disgusting imo

Exactly. Third pic down, on the right: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orographic_precipitation#Orographic

Last time I checked, one had to earn The Corrector. Little old me? A little feisty, but an angel at heart! :halo:

You look like you need some cheering up.... a nice raspberry color should do the trick! Yep - what a happy camper you are now!

(Wouldn't want anyone to feel left out now, would I?)
Mmm - raspberries might make a nice companion to a burger...

aw, not to worry, geeme-

I'm sure I'll find some newbie mistake to unleash The Corrector on between now and the end of the TD.

And thanks for the shopping invite. That has the "boys" all this-that-and-everything worried.....
