Thursday Night Chili-ish

We made some impromtu chili-like beef in the slow cooker Thursday night. We had most everything but the tomato paste, but it worked out well enough w/ some fresh tomatoes and a couple of spoons of spaghetti sauce. We used some red scorpions or brain strains from the Baker's box we've been powering through. Some pics follow. Those peppers are HOT, totally activating my salivary glands - jeez ...

We eat a fair amount of white rice (because I am poorly grain intolerant) ... hence the potato vodka and agave pref for my OH sources ...

I am, however, going to give brown rice a go using the tip suggested over on the Drunken Chef post!
