John I have one hybrid of the two over wintered one is the unknown Trinidad scotch bonnet X Unknown Trinidad 7 Pot .
The other is a Papa Dreadie thinking there going to be selects.
I also have some thinking on two crosses the peach bonnet X peach 7 Pot & one I am leaning toward a Chero Roxa X Scotch Bonnet maybe a papa Dreadie as I like the pheno.
My two over wintered plants are close together in containers so might be some bee action there
I already have my pepper list for next season & things have really shaped up here even though it evolved different than planed lol
Oh an pics of plants will be coming soon

Looking good John! Sorry about the weather. I wish we could trade on and off. It's 104.5° out there at the moment!

Glad to see all the poddage! You will have something to keep you warm this winter ;)

Thank you all for your posts and sorry Bpiela for missing yours I think Rick has answered your question.. however I always grow in fresh containers and always use new soil .. if I see a damaged pod I always remove from the plant and throw in the refuse bin. I have had a few to date but normally don't see this issue until later in the season

Here is a short update to where I am at the moment. We have lost those long sunny days and have had rain every day over the past week

FB kindly sent me some ScotchBrain Long seed somewhere along the line it's turned into what he a Justin thinks could be a Yellow BBG7 ... I am pleased as I have never grown a BBG7

Biggest/tallest variety at the moment is FB's Jobito x Yellow BBG7 looking forward to this as I grew Sandra's Brown variation last season

Jamaican Long SB great looking pods hang like pendants

This season for me seems to be the year of the "elongated pod" and many varieties seem to be off pheno... an example being my Matthew Arthur SB Peach .. I sent some seed to Justin to grow on for me and he kindly sent me some back ... wow if this turns Peach I will be impressed... I follow the Matthew Arthur physiology "let nature take its course, it's all about the bees"

Mike USMC Cappuccino SB great variety in heat and taste and besides the MA SBN has the best chocolate colour in my opinion

Christopher Phillips Puerto Rican Purple Sploched

Finally my attempt at a cross which at the moment is doing well mother plant being Obeah (Reaper x MoA) x Butch T x NagaBon this was totally accidental and I can only thank the bees

It produced a yellow pod last season

Thanks for looking in and I hope your having better weather than we are having

Plants are looking great and it definitely looks like the scotchbrain long was pollinated by a bbg. I'll go out right now and snap a pic of  my scotch brain long that looks like it was also crossed with a bbg. Cheers

So upon further inspection it looks like 3 out of the 4 scotch brain long plants i'm growing have been crossed with a bbg....lol Here's a pic of one of them, if I had to guess I would say they were crossed with my white bbg.

And a pic of one of my scotch brain long x yellow bbg for comparison, these pods have really nice size to them with a nice calyx.

Time for an update and at last I am starting to get some colour ... firstly really pleased to be growing FB's ScotchBrain Long x BBG7 and the pheno looks good compared to his photo above

Thanks for your comments... the chilli festival at West Dean - Sussex was well attended and it was good to meet up again with Joy creator of the Dorset Naga although she was the only vendor selling plants yesterday ... not that I needed anymore [emoji848]

Always nice to walk through the glass houses within the walled garden. Plenty of varieties on show and a few pods as well

Picked up a few ripe pods as my "wedding favour" chilli jam went down well. My son keeps asking for more I will keep to the recipe but this batch will have a few Bhut's with the Scotch Bonnets

I'll be interested in hearing how your jam comes out with a mix of bhuts and bonnets. To my mind, I'd have paired trinidad scorpions with the bonnets since the ones I've tried are fruitier than the floral, more vegetal bhuts, but maybe you're onto something. [emoji2]

It looked like the chile festival was a good time... Did they have any food there that followed the theme?

The chilli festival has grown over the past few years and to be honest is getting very commercial... years ago there was not the interest that there is now for chillies so there where plenty of vendors selling plants
... now it's all about the sauce, jams and jelly. On average $3 (£4) a jar or 3 for £10. Plenty of food stalls selling Jerk Chicken through to Veitnamese Steet Food. Unfortunately there was no Korean food stalls. Entertainment in the forum of salsa, beer tents and a three piece Mexican band who looked like they had come straight out of the desert scene in "Breaking Bad"

May well have a re-think on the chilli jelly and do two different versions

Festival looked like a great time, John! I wish they had something like that around here
We are pretty good with chilli festivals around the UK ... some are a lot more popular than others ... no chilli eating competition which seems to be the norm ... you are going to have to organise one Mike you would make a fortune with your sauces .. your labels alone are sure winners

Thank you for the pictures and update.
I would love to see such a display of peppers and plants.

Yes the glass house always has a good display and it's quite refreshing seeing so many varieties with pods still on the plants ... having had thousands of visitors over the weekend the temptation to remove a pod must have gone through some people's mind

Great updates, John.  That polytunnel is getting a workout with
the rainy weather you've been having.  Hope that's a thing of the past.

Thanks Paul the weather has greatly improved and we are having a good period of steady sunshine which is helping to colour up the pods. MoA still way behind especially in shape
