this is how it looks now.... in my bedroom ... the wife said something about someone who's a little crazy but I don't know who she's talking about

and also some sweet peppers, Kapija paprika and some classic bell peppers
Later on in the season, in march, I'm also going to start some tomatoes, lettuce and pumpkins .. but that's the whole other story :)

Now it's time to do some waiting .. let's hope they'll all gonna pop soon

Tried our first ripe Serrano today. Both me and my wife agree it's a delicious thick walled pepper with great sweet taste and quite small amount of heat to it. Maybe next one will be hotter. I just hope we won't eat all of them right away... I would like to pickle some for winter time.

Also, yellow pear tomato started to ripe. It's quite good.

The hot ones are starting to ripen...

Aji Umba
ajiumba21082015.jpg

Bhut Jolokia - just tried it and it's good, should of let it be for a few days more but it was moldy towards the tip already (I blame the humid weather). It was quite oily with strong Bhutish smell.

NOT Reaper - guess this one is going to be orange :)

Another big beefsteak from the garden. Those things are huge and delicious. Must make some salsa asap.
Almost 1,2 kg.
Really massive!

Very nice , great job

thanks man .. still not satisfied with the number of pods this year. Many of flowers fell off during the heat waves :(

thanks.... Serrano has mild heat and is sweet ... should be a good choice to make a jam too

let me comment on the "NOT Reaper".... we tried it on saturday at some party for a freshly 40year old friend ... damn man.. it definitely has some Reaper genes in it... we sliced it a few times and five of us cried tears and it took about 10 minutes or more.... fun times :) still think Bhut is better tasting though, but it will be a great addition to some sauce soon

I tried the first Aji Umba (elongated - crossed ?) this season. The taste is the same as I remember, the heat also (say about 2/3 of fatalii's heat) but the pod is bigger and this one had a bit thinner walls. Will see how the next one is going to be.
Also Habanero White's are ripening - this is such a good pepper (sweet, habanero taste)... so small but the heat is amazing!!!

That little White Hab. had 13 seeds inside...

This was my dinner last night. Fresh tomatoes (yellow pear, beefsteak, sunstream), kapija (green&red), onion..... with evo, apple vinegar, ground black pepper and a bit of salt....with fresh black homemade bread - it was so good I didn't even remember putting basil on top...

we have a winner!

the first hooks were noticed in the Serrano pot
the seeds came from one of the pods rghm1u20 sent me ...
I say hooks, because until now I can see four of them...

so that's the first among the annums, so let's see who'll be next...
Is it just me , or is that one of the most beautiful things to see early in the morning!

Did some picking today... Not much, but still something.

Goatsweed, Devil's Tounge, Chupetinho, Jalapeno
As chili, Cherry bomb, Bonda ma Jacques, Bulgarian Carrot, MoA SB, Serrano
Apache, two NOT reapers, one Moruga Red TS, two Bhut Jolokias, below Aji Umba and Hungarian Hot Wax
harvest02092015.jpg

I'm thinking of making some sauce from the "hot ones" and pickle the annums...

Also picked some Kapijas, small bells, cucumbers and tomatoes (yellow pears, sunstream,...)
harvestother02092015.jpg

Soon I'll have my first ripe Habanero Chocolates from the garden. Garden peppers are growing well in general, I just hope there's enough season left to get them ripe.

Started another batch of sauce tonight.... I went with red and yellow...

doublesaucea04092015.jpg

For red I used tomatoes, onion, garlic cloves, bell peppers, hot peppers: Aji Umba, Bhut Jolokia, NOT Reapers, Moruga Red TS, Brain Strain and Devil Tounges... also some apple vinegar, salt, brown sugar, a pinch of black pepper and basil
doublesauceb04092015.jpg

For yellow I used Yellow pear tomatoes, onion, garlic cloves, hot peppers: Bonda ma Jacques, Hungarian Hot Wax, Cayenne Golden, MoA SB, Bulgarian Carrot.... also apple vinegar, white wine, lemon juice, salt, brown sugar and cilantro
doublesaucec04092015.jpg

Bottled and cooling down at the moment.... the taste of both was very good. Interesting aroma from the white wine. I wonder how it's gonna meld with some time.

Will post a picture of the bottles/jars tomorrow when they're cooled down.

Awesome, Uros.  It looks like your grow is coming on strong.

Lots of nice peppers!  Keep up the good work...

Thanks. It means a lot coming from you. Looking at your harvest pictures.. you're doing the real good work man :)
The final product: the sauce from last night

And the Chocolate Habanero is ripening slowly... it's sure is going to be good. I bet.

Just hoping that the storm that is raging outside at the moment won't hurt my plants...

Very nice.I think that Chocolate Habanero is from my seed stock via Rghm. It's a great pepper has plenty of heat and taste

I bet it's a great pepper. Can't wait for it to ripe and to taste it. Gonna use it even for a small batch of sauce if there will be enough chiles.

But I actually got the seeds from Nulle via European seed train... don't remember if there was any other bag with Chocolates inside there.... but I carefully written everything down. You can see on the first post of this glog where all the seeds are from.

The sauces look awesome, Uros!  Good work.
The Chocolate Habanero looks great, too!

Thanks! Hope they're gonna be good too. The last batch was fine, using the last jar these days...

Gonna try those for the first time soon.
MoA SB, 7pot Brain Strain and Orange lantern
peppertasting07092015.jpg

Started with Scotch Bonnet tonight...
Very sweet chinense flavor with slight resemblance to Fatalii, but to me better tasting and not even half that hot.
I can see why this one is so used for many dishes in the Caribbean area - and elsewhere of course.
scotchbonnetcut07092015.jpg

Also picked some chanterelles this afternoon with my kids and wife on our short hike through the woods. Those are gonna be used for tomorrow's lunch.

Tried the Orange Lantern today. Not as hot as I expected, but still a bit hotter than any low end habaneros. Fruity and sweet notes with a little resemblance to... maybe an orange annum of some sort, a bit like Bulgarian carrot maybe. I say this because I noticed a little bitterness that most annums tend to have.
The heat was gone in about 5 - 6 minutes... so I tried another... this one was smaller and juicier and I think this was a reason it was even more sweet. It was good.

Orange Lantern cut open

Then later me and my wife both ate one Habanero White, just to compare the heat level... and yes... White hab. is a lot stronger and better tasting! Yup... my wife made a progress from hotter annums, to Devil's tounges, to White habaneros :) She's saying she'll try the Chocolate soon... but not the whole fruit at once. Neither will I. After a few times of incredible stomach cramps I'm always careful and start with a quarter or half of pod at first.
