Two Fat Ladies

twofatladies.jpg

I sure miss watching this show in the late 1990's. Does any-
one here remember this program?

I replied to this during the infamous server brain fart of 2011, but here goes again, as I'm now reading Clarissa Dickson Wright's "Spilling the beans". Her auto-biog is one of the best books I've ever read - featuring an abusive father, devoted mum, ascent to brilliance as the youngest ever female barrister in Blighty, followed by booze, sex, IRA... stories galore. Utterly farking brilliant read.

If I need to convince you further I've just read the sentence "That was nothing to do with either the gardener or my flamingo but the mind takes curious leaps, doesn't it."

Read it.

Aww, ChileJuju, you ain't never gonna grow up, but that doesn't mean we can't have as much fun as those two ladies did!

Loved watching those two, and another crazy Brit... Keith Floyd!

(sidebar here-)
"right then, quick tour of the ingredients~"
live comment to Richard, the cameraman- "Richard, you are supposed to be focusing on the ingredients, not me!"
(from a cook he visited, the carrageenean episode)-"you are MUCKY! MUCKY!"

I've not seen much Graham Kerr, but for me Keith Floyd IS the original Drunken Chef, and we've enjoyed the Two Fat Ladies also.

I hope a tribute to any cook/chef/author/personality/whatever is..."did I inspire someone to try~...."

And I can say YES! Those ladies did inspire us to try their recipes, which we still use to this day. Mission Accomplished!

I grew up watching Graham! He went all sober, but every now & then, I still give him a big ol' toast as I play in my kitchen w/ a glass of vino next to me. He made cooking look like soooo much fun! Julia was so serious (hadn't figured out her humor yet), but Graham was a total blast and full of laughs. That's how I wanted to cook! And now I do!!!!! :) I'm a lucky girl!
