vincent's 2013 season ***10/22/13 SUPER HUGE MEGA 40ish PICTURE UPDATE***

Well well well. Here we are again folks. Spent the last couple days getting everything all set up how i would like it to be (heat mat temps, lights hanging in right position, and the never ending task of finalizing a grow list. But i think ive done it...lol. i will be using a hydrofarm 4ft, 6 bulb, T5 fixture along with a heat mat set to88 F. I did not soak seeds overnight as i did last season so ill see if it makes a difference. Im putting litt. Ms. Oriah down for a nap at the moment but will post the final grow list here shortly

Pics to follow my friends.

Vincent

Yep, got blasted with a lot of wind in that rain. All plants in pots were blown over and rolled a ways. I'm waiting til morning to take inventory of the damage and see what survived.

^^^Dude, that sucks!  Hope things aren't damaged too badly.

Vincent, your updates were awesome, man!  Pods everywhere and color turning.  Really digging the look of that Chocolate Bhut x Yellow 7.  A few pages ago it had some crazy central growth and now it is just bushed out.  Going to be productive, I am sure.

Thanks for the color shot!  I am really stoked to see a few of those pods ripen, especially that BB Yellow!  It looks pretty gnarly already.
Hey there Matt, yea that Goat was the first pod to form and isn't the normal shape for the Bahamian Goat but there's more baby pods growing that are the correct shape.

I'm very stoked to see one of those yellows start to turn

Yea it was looking pretty rough over your way. It didn't get too bad up north of b'ham. Sucks about the roll aways...but in the morning after you take inventory let me know if there's any extras you don't have room for and I'll gladly make the drive man.

Hey Brent, glad you enjoyed all of that update. Yea that plant has so many pods on there it's ridiculous, so I'm sure it will be quite productive

Well yesterday I cross-pollinated some flowers to hopefully get some wild hybrid seeds. I emasculated the flowers and took all the necessary steps to give myself the best odds possible. I will tell you folks a few of them, but there are 2 that I'm keeping to myself at the moment. If those two take then I will plant those seeds immediately and grow them out indoors over fall / winter.

1. Father - Billy Boy Jonah
Mother - Chocolate Scorpion

2. Father - Billy Boy Jonah
Mother - 7 Pot Barrackpore

3. Father - Biker Billy Jalapeno
Mother - Billy Boy Douglah

4 Father - Yellow Scotch Bonnet
Mother - NOT Black Naga Cross (from CMPMAN) - Since the Mother is an unknown cross already, there is no telling what it will throw out lol

Should make for some cool crosses! Everything's looking great! I started a few of the seeds I got from you...haven't been updating them yet because they were late starts, but they're podding up so I will start to post some soon. You've got some cool varieties going, and with the addition of the noobs you're adding with these crosses next year will be epic!

I really hope #1 and #3 take. I'll probably have alot ofhhybrids growing next year. And thanks, I wouldn't have most of these cool varieties growing if it wasn't for silver surfer.

Yeah, a few got rolled clean out of the pot and lost their labels. Got an outlaw coming down this weekend, so will let ya know what's left after his plundering.

Lol Okie dokie, sounds good. Also I'll gladly take ones without labels as well, who doesn't love a surprise plant from SS. Weather the last couple days has sucked pretty bad. Today is looking great already though
Went out and took a couple pictures this morning...

Alright Vince! Lovin' the first shot of color on your Chinense varieties... now you'll just have to run to keep up! ;)
Hey cousin, yea it always feels a bit like Christmas morning when one of your pods starts to turn colors for the first time in a season.

And yea I'm pretty sure you're right about me having to run to keep up. This is the most plants I've ever had, it's only my 3rd year growing supers though. Last year I had 14-15 and i had more peppers than I ever knew what to do with. This year I jumped up to 36! Yikes! I definitely foresee some major auctions / flat sales in the next couple of months.

Well I decided to jump on the compost tea wagon. Went to the hydro shop and picked up some goodies.

Excellent variety, and poddage. Will be watching the tea process.
Thanks devv. Plants have really taken off the last couple weeks. I'm getting pretty excited about making my tea and watching the results.

Woohoo! Chick entry doo doo!
Your plants are gonna love it!
Haha yea i thought it was just like a local brand my hydro shop down here soldor ssomething but I guess not.

Also what do you guys think of adding this to the tea as well? It says it's organic and it's also got mycos in it but since I'm new to the tea I figured I'd ask.

+1 on that... I usually use granulated stuff as base and side dressings. This year I used liquid nutes for the first time when starting seedlings, so I'll be checking this out too. Cheers cousin!
