Wahlee's 2014

So, as I'm already growing Primo's, I thought I might as well start a new topic

It's getting cold and dak and I haven't cleaned up outside yet, cause I can't be bothered gardening in this weather.

Anyway, here's my 2014 list. Will sow the rest at the end of november. Maybe one or two varieties will be added, but I think this is pretty much it.

1.    7-pod Primo
2.    Trinidad Scorpion Yellow CARDI
3.    Datil
4.    Aribibi Gusanito
5.    Aji Crystal
6.    Habanero Mustard
7.    Habanero Peruvian White
8.    Habanero Guadalupe
9.    Papa Joe’s Scotch Bonnet
10.  Reaper
11.  Bhut Jolokia Caramel
12.  Scorpion Moruga Chocolate
13.  Scorpion Sunrise
14.  Habalokia Peach
15.  Moruga Satan Strain
16.  7-pod Primo Yellow

I will be growing only about 20 plants next year, due to lack of space and too many peppers (no, not puppy's) in previous years.

Nice sturdy-looking plants Wally! Now that they've gotten used to their outdoor environment they're looking much happier. Flowers just around the corner... bonus!
Thanx :P

And here's part 3 (of 4)

Papa Joe's Scotch Bonnet, one in a 5 gallon smartpot and one in a 6,5-liter plastic container. The one in the Smartpot still doesn't grow and is very yellow. My Scotch Bonnets last year didn't get too big either. I think I'll put a Hbanero in the smartport next year. The one in the small container is doing much better, but it does have the benefit of being in a small greenhouse.

Aji Crystal, a very stretched plant. Doing just fine.

7-pot Primo Red, doing allright. Still a bit yellow. Has had some small pod, which I removed.

And the last part

Habanero Guadalupe, in the small greenhouse in a 12 liter container pot. Unsurprisingly the best looking plant.

7-pot Pimo Yellow, don't know why I keep this. It's not doing anything, but not dead either.
P1140336_zps536e1dda.jpg

Aribibi Gusanito, doing allright, lots of small leaves. Not too big, but I think this will be a heavy producer.

I was wondering what can be done about the small leaves.

Looking good Wally, the plants are showing the normal stages of being put outside.

The good thing is they're looking great!

The small leaves.....get used to that. All those nice huge leaves are gonna drop and the smaller summer leaves take over. It's a good thing, as flowers and pods are next.

Keep it green!

Thanx, I never noticed this before. Maybe the sunburn emphasizes the difference.

Finally some good weather   !
Took half a day off, and took some pics  :D

Hope this belated summer, gives me some bigger and better pods

+1 on that Wally... it's been my experience also when transitioning from inside to outside plantings.

Looking good Wally!

I picked my first Aji Cristal today, color was pinkish. Haven't tried it yet...

Congrats on the poddage!

Thanks,

if your Aji Cristal is the same color as the pic in my post, it tastes great. Nice, crunchy and not too hot. Good to eat straight from the plant.

MyPrimo red, which was completely yellow before, is looking much better, with a couple of pods. Nevertheless expected more from a plant that was sown last summer.

Nice to see your pods are starting to show a little color Wally! Except for the MoA, I'm still waiting here. I don't think OW plants like being grown in pots that are too small... I put mine in the ground in a raised bed this year and they've just exploded with growth after a slow start. I think giving the roots room to grow is the key.

Continued success brother!

Good job Wally! Looks like things are starting to really tick over for you.

Your Peruvian White Habaneros look a little shorter and blockier than mine. Keep up the great work!

I'll post a close-up this weekend. Seeds are from Pepperlover, but I notice the somewhat colder and shorter summer over here influences the pod shapes. As well as that the plants are in a cramped garden.
