I have not even looked at the seeds I saved last year yet lol. More to come. If you grew anything I posted and it sucked or didn't produce very well let me know and I can free up some room lol

Trent was dumping strait peroxide in his plants last year to get rid of something. If I would have planted these in soil I probably wouldn't have seen the mold, its only on the seed casings, and even the ones with mold on them are sprouting. I wonder if I could just wet my paper towels with peroxide instead of water and just let them sprout in it. It turns into water anyway doesn't it?

Turns in to water and oxygen. You won't hurt plants with peroxide. You will however kill every last bit of fungus in there so you do want to follow it up with a mycorrhizae treatment, to get the good guys growing again!  I use great white, you can get it off amazon.

I haven't been able to justify buying mykos yet, that stuff is priced for growing weed lol.

I sterilized my soil, so I was thinking about getting some, the nursery leaves their bags outside and they have fungus gnat larvae in them usually.

But I might try using peroxide to wet my paper towels on the Annuums

Anxious to see how that works out Andy

Also trying this method with coir instead of paper towels, thought being I won't damage the taproots. Some grow into the paper towel worse than others.

I just have 1/8 inch of pretty wet coir at the bottom.

It does work well, you should do it... do it. :fire:

Nah a small 4oz jar lasted nearly the entire grow for 3200 plants last year. I ran out towards the end of my grow, and didn't inoculate the last 5 tables. 4 oz was enough for over 2100 plants though - at least two feedings on those, some chinense got it 3 times (so I could have done the whole grow, if I'd only done one treatment per plant). Many of those plants not inoculated got sclerotinia sclerotiorum, while the ones which were inoculated were fine.

Amazon has 1oz for $12 something, which should be enough to inoculate about 500 plants. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A8PG6RI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Wow man, seriously impressed by the list. That is crazy. One day I'll have that many choices HAHAHAHA. How many of each do you try to grow out? Since I am going for a small farm type grow this year, I am looking to grow out 300-350 plants. And this is taking my first year and making it 10 times bigger HAHAHA we will see how it goes. Good luck to you with all of these varieties, I'll be following along for sure.

Wanna know a trick? put the seed in the container, under the paper towel. Seeds' radicle knows to grow down, so the theory is less growing into the paper towel.

Trent, I guess I will buy some at that price!

Dwb I was worried about coffee filters drying up easier, or not holding water as well.

Guru, that does make sense, I like leaving them on the paper towel until the helmet head comes off, but I'm sure the cotys would work their way around the paper towel too.

I really do have high hopes for the coco coir method. I will post pics when those sprout. I started them a couple days ago.

Thanks for stopping by the glog everyone! I gotta find some trays from last year and get them cleaned up, I probably have another 72 sprouts to get in some dirt.

Oh ad blitz, I'm just kinda winging it on how many per cultivar. 3-6 per type, unless I have multiple seed sources, then 3-6 from each source lol. We will see how many I can actually get into the gground this year.

If the fungus gnats are all you're concerned about at this point, I've used this against them, with great success on the indoor grows.  I keep a few 1/2 gallon jugs of water at the ready for mixing nutes and just toss an 1/4 tsp or so of the granules into each jug.
It keeps any larva from maturing and is essentially Bt, Bacillus thuringiensis.  From what I've read you can use it that way, sprinkle it on the surface of your plant, or just mix it in with your potting soil.  I bought a small jar a year ago and am still using it.

I've used the dunks before, its the same but you have to crumble it yourself, lol.

Menards has these sticky traps that go on little stakes too, I would just rather avoid them.

Jedisushi posted a compost tea kit that I might go ahead and grab, it has an oz of mycos in it.

Here's what I'm working with this morning.
