I'm hoping after I cut this fox farm with coco coir and perlite I won't have to buy another 26 dollar bag of ocean forest when I pot up. I might go ahead and start baking soil and getting the trays ready for transplant. I can only fit so much in the oven at a time, and I'm sure my wife isn't impressed with the new process. Lol

I think soil smells good really. At least nice rich composty smelling soil. It definitely makes the house smell like that lol

My wife would have to be gone for many hours for me to try to bake soil [emoji16]. She would still smell it when she got home. Something like super mom smelling ability. [emoji16] She would say that I’m gonna ruin the oven [emoji16]

I had fungus gnats once and I wasn't seeing any damage so I didn't bother them. Then a couple plants flopped over.

Right below the soil the stem was hourglass shaped where the larvae had been eating it. It only affected one cultivar, but after that I watered with BT a few times and put out traps and that got rid of them, slowly but surely

I had the freakin' fungus gnats last year. They really hit my tomato seedlings hard .... not too much pepper damage. That hourglass shape is characteristic. I have used those sticky traps with good results.
