fermenting weighing down the mash

i had issues with my ferment mash staying completely submerged under the brine. I would put a ziploc with water on top but this only weighed down some of the mash alot of it would find its way to the surface.....if anybody figured out a genius idea to   weigh down the mash please share. i don't want to use cabbage...
 
I like the pie weight idea.  I'm looking for a large crock for bigger batchs.  I was wondering what to use for a weight.  This seems like it would do the trick for way less money than most want for a fermentation weight.
