A huge Thanks to Wes Lane for these pods. The original seeds were taken right out of a 7-pot Brainstrain pod, but gave this strange and contorted phenotype. Win!!!
The initial aroma was quite complex. Fruity, sweet, floral and grassy, but it didn`t remind me of a Brainstrain at all. It was a very fresh aroma, though.
Surprisingly, the initial flavours did not include any sweetness, but there was a good bit of acid, a very citrusy and floral flavor and a lot of Bhut-like flavour. The combination was excellent, but could have used a bit of sweetness.
It was also a damn big pod to chew on!!!
Some heat was apparent from the off, but not a huge amount, but as I chewed the pepper juices just hammered my throat and ripped my vocal chords apart for perhaps 45-60 seconds. Then the heat blasted through my mouth and my tongue ignited, along with the roof of my mouth and my tonsils! My lips also felt like they were swelling up.
This is a hot pod, but the heat gives way to true pain. To me, the heat profile, where the heat hit and the added pain, were all reminiscent of a Brainstrain and not at all like a Bhut. Overall, I`d say the heat was around that of a good solid red Bhut - 1 million SHU or thereabouts. Very hot, but not stupid hot.
