I found the name "LOUDENS" stamped into it.

Something old and cool.

Quiz:  Tell me something about this machete, something that might be stamped into the blade.

"August 24, 1949 - The treaty creating NATO goes into effect."

Is the machete military maybe?
I can see a US stamp that leads me to think in that direction.
You can see a stamp?? Wow! You're exactly right, but I want to post the photo later tonight so you can see it better, maybe tell us more about it. You are a detective, Sir!

USN = U.S. NAVY.  I'm Guessing. Wait aren't you Navy, Ryme?
Okay, I didn't know the stamp was visible, but you're right. There's more stamped on it, but we'll have to wait until I get home from work to post the photo.

Usn legitimus collins & co 1944

Yeah, I just found the info.  Prices were only $20-$30 though, all auctions.  I'd rather have it hanging in my shop.

Yes I was Navy, but I never knew the Navy had machetes.

I just blew up the pic and saw a stamp that looked military.
