What do you mean by they did not take?
I hardened them off for a few weeks, placing them outside whenever possible. What I mean is that the root ball wasn't established enough to support the full sized plant. It seems like they would have done much better if they had been cut back during the winter.
Edit: One of the three plants still looks pretty bad. I cut it back more than a month ago. The other two finally took off, but they just didn't do well. It might partially have to do with the soil.
Nevertheless, they will flower and produce fruit indoors. I'm not sure how long to let them produce fruit before cutting them.
I'll be bringing mine in tonight. I hope they didn't get damaged this morning. I didn't get up early enough to check for frost.
