What is this??

Ok, I have looked around online and I cant really figure this one out. I got this plant from a local nursery and all they knew about it is that they had a bunch of seeds, they got em to grow, and now they're selling them.. Oh, AND they just named it a "Purple Mayan". Has anyone ever seen/grown this before? If so What is it??

The Pods are moderately spicy with little to no flavor. I'm not sure if they change any colors at this point. It has just recently started producing pods..

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Google (Pretty Purple) That's what it looks like to me! I grow several every year just for cosmetics.

Looks like pretty purple to me. The pods will turn red when ripe too.

That doesn't mean you can't put them to good use!

For me though they do not produce enough for the amount of work. I forget but I think they have a little bite to them to.

But they are Pretty!
