disease-pests What kind of pests??

Some of my broccoli has been wilting - I thought it was a wilt, but it didn't have the browning leaves, etc. It was just limp during the day, and it would perk up at night.

I let them be, hoping they'd recover. Well, today one of them was just lying down, pretty much dead. I pulled him up, and no less than 3 bugs came crawling out of the stem. I looked down, and there were more from the hole the plant came out of!

I have 2 more broccoli that are also wilting, and I'd love to save them! What kind of insect are these, and how do I kill them??

This is one of the wilting plants. Notice the small, dark green patches on the wilting leaf. This is not happening on the healthy plant.

My girlfriend informed me that they are termites. I didn't know termites eat crops, but I guess they do. Looking online, it seems like she's right...

Now, it says neem and pyrethrum can both be used, but since they're underground, how do I use them?? Saturate the soil?

It appears as termite Best thing you could probaly do is bag a few and take them to pest control and let them take a look Good luck Just a thought did you use some fresh wood chips?

DE (diatomaceous earth) works wonders at cutting the little wood eating bastards up...and a weak solution of boric acid is a good deterrent....

just sprinkle the DE around the foundation of your house or around your pepper plants...
