What on earth is this?

I thought it was aphids, until I noticed they are red and black. Something different? They are all over my lettuce plants!

Aphids +2, they come in all kinds of colors besides green. Get 'em before they become too much more a problem

aphids come in many different flavours, so other than peppers, i have aphids on my cherry trees and manitoba maple, each specialize in a flavour. the black cherry aphid is jet black and squish leaving lots of juice!
