What, you dont play with wallabies and kangaroos?

It's cool you guys show such passion and interest in an Australian native. I'd love to say that they are not as widespread as you northern hemisphere folk think they are here. But truth be told, the little buggers crap on my front yard, and I'd guarantee a sighting almost any evening or morning with walking distance of my front door. (Where I live that is)

They can withstand the extreme temperatures of below zero to 40+deg Celsius, and are happy to just eat grass.

Large males stand their ground, and are an intimidating sight. I've seen them leap over a five foot fence in one stride, like it wasn't even there.

Good on you Sicman, if you ever want a wild encounter, come on over mate.

i fully understand that these dudes are in your yards and are a problem, like deer in some places in the states. But in the good ol USA,this is rare, lol.  What do you Aussie bastrds envy us for? Not a thang,Bastards!   ;)

Oh and I woud love to come visit and get the royal treatment. Maybe one day, maybe. I need some money for a trip like that :P

Well you guys have McDonald's, Starbucks and Subway......oh wait, so do we.

What I do envy is the number of THP members you have to share the love of heat with, within easy reach. I'd like share more of what I have,  without it costing the earth to send. So you Bastards are all one happy bunch up there, while we're down here counting Kangaroos. Lol.

Sicman, hopefully you can see the hundreds of Kangaroos on the horizon in this picture en route to a Spearfishing trip early one morning at Bushrangers bay, Victoria.

Dive spot. Big Stingrays are a massive P.I.T.A here so I haven't been back.

I had a dive buddy from Denmark in the car at the time, he loved the experience. Moments earlier we were chasing another mob along a fence, they were only meters away and traveling at a considerable pace.

Any of y'all will be my guest if any of you come Downunder.

That is my catch bag (with two fish inside) and float with me on the other end of the float line tugging away to try an deter the Ray. For size comparison,  that float is about two feet long. One fish was crushed beyond human consumption. This was the last straw, and the last time I dived here.

Sorry for the hijack Sicman.

aw damn. what an asshole fish thing.

you almost need something like inner tube floating on the surface to hold the fish.

You said it, I now have a Banks Board which is like a cross between a Body board and a Kayak. If Rays are around you can put your catch on top. Works perfectly.

I took this photo of a Wallaby while out walking my dog in bushland near my house on the weekend. I was able to get within 100 meters of it, before it decided I was too close. I saw 4-5 others just like it which were too quick for me to photograph, or too far away. Many kangaroos were also seen.

Apologies for the poor quality of the photo, it is a zoomed in pic from my phone.

Cool Shorerider, thanks for sharing.   Update on the Forest wallabies. We finished the outdoor pen which is huge. We covered the entire top with netting so these small guys wouldnt get took by hawks"that would be a very expensive meal" It was funny watching two dudes that had no idea how to hang, stretch, weave this netting. trying to do it,lol..  We finally got it done and they are officially roaming as they please inside and out.

Took the dog for a walk this afternoon, look what she found. I saw her eager to navigate around a fence, and I didn't know why. I showed her a way around where this little guy/gal was hiding.

Echidna, one of only two egg laying mammals. The other being the Platypus.

Saw some kangaroos as per usual.

My big Sis works at a pet store, one particular customer has a variety of Australian animals he does shows with.

He just acquired an extremely rare baby Albino Red Necked Wallaby. Obviously rare because Albinos are rare enough, but also because it needs to be abandoned, and then rescued before it can be rehomed.

At the moment, the owner is carrying the Wallaby around in a backpack, but probably not for much longer.

This one's for you Sicman.  :P
