Dont know anything about tvs but hope one of you will know

When your turn the tv on it has a bunch of line vertically which very slowly will fade till the picture shows up

Im just assuming its something to do with the lightbulb??? Its one of the older widescreen hdtvs that sit on top of the speakers

If it's that old, rear projection, it is still CRT. So... is this a new set-up on these speakers? If they are not shielded the magnets could be causing it. Or it's dying.

new tv's are cheap nowadays, you can get a big tv with alot of options for decent prices.
and with our throw away society its sometimes cheaper to do just that & buy new vs fixing it.

Sometimes you can get one free with certain credit card miles too. And yeah, they are cheap now.

Is it in fact a rear projection? You mentioned it was HD, so if it is Rear Projection, it could be a bulb, (1 of 3).
If it's Plasma or LCD, it is more likely what boss said. Speaker interference, or dying.

My HDTV was not cheap, I have a friend that is on his second Vizio in the time I've had my Pioneer ('06), and his non-HD channels hurt peoples eyeballs. So, like everything, "cheap" is a relative term.

still nowadays pioneer, sony, vizio are all close to being the same price....IMO still cheap prices for new tv's. & you can get some package deals for entertainment package online. I was thinking about upgrading to a 42" or more.
