Who scored big on Black Friday?

Absolutely NOTHING to do with Alex Jones and EVERYTHING to do with herding the Sheep

I know it has nothing to do with Alex Jones... You can't post a link to infowars.com and not expect a sarcastic response though. ;)

Yeah. The majority of the "deals" on BF are not deals at all. I agree 100%. BUT, there are a few genuine good deals to be had if you can sift through the bullshit and get a little lucky. Just because it's a BF deal doesn't automatically mean it's a bad deal.

One of the tactics stores use is advertising a few genuine really good deals, and failing to mention that they will only have a handful of those items in stock for the low sale price. It's to get you in the door so hopefully you buy a bunch of other crap once you find that item sold out immediately. People figure they have to buy something after getting up early and standing in a long line. The gun safe I bought was one of those items. They only had about 15 of them in stock. I went there on Wednesday and asked the store manager how many they would have, and where they would be located. It's not even an item they normally stock. Same with the 22' folding ladder I bought. They had about a dozen or so of them. I was lucky enough to snag one of each, and I don't care how many people insist I got ripped off. As a consumer that is very aware of the pricing on both items, I think I got a great deal. If the store was making a big profit from those items, don't you think they would stock more than just a few?

There are a lot of pricing strategies.. taking your loss at a couple of items (i.e. pricing your beer or 22 long rifle ammo just a little cheaper than the competition, so that you don't even make a profit on it) gets people to your store. Same goes with black Friday sales.. If you put a item that goes for 200 dollars normally in your store (as store owner you buy it at, lets say.. 150 dollar) and sell it at black Friday for JUST 100 bucks.. but only stack like 20 of them in your store... you get 10,000 people in your outlet store wanting to buy it (and 99% of the people, after missing a great deal) still go home with other stuff.

And lets be honest, the "horde" will buy anything if they think it's cheap. Get some $100 items on an isle with big red signs they are priced from $150 to $100 and a lot of sheep will buy it.

In my teen years I worked at a supermarket and we had the euro weeks.. loads of standard items were priced for just €1.. (I spent hours and hours of repricing everything with a price of 12 cents less or more than €1). So people walk through the store and buy a €0.88 ct article for €1.. because it's just 1 euro now! How cheap! Haven't had that in ages!

And if you just get 10,000 people to spend $100-200 on small crap.. you make a hell of a profit that Friday. Than those 20 times of a 50 bucks loss isn't that bad at all. And it's usely not the high-end stuff that gets your money, but all of the small chinese crap that's bought in bulk.. like tools, fishing supplies, gadgets, hardware, gimmicks, plant pots etc.

Im not sure why Jones was the only source to post this year?
Maybe the others just gave up on trying to stop this particular aspect of cultural indoctrination?
Ill agree with many of the sources claiming BF being more important then Thanksgiving now.

Being "Thankful" vs kicking your neighbors ass in a retail store ?

Yeah, it's kind of sad. I agree. Especially "early" Black Friday. Stores opening late on Thanksgiving day is going a little too far IMHO. I wonder how many people cut their family Thanksgiving dinner short to get in line at Best Buy?

My wifey is a manager at JCPennys.  She had to go to work Thanksgiving Eve until Midnight to get the store ready,  then had to be in at 4pm until 6am Thanksgiving night into Black Friday.  Then back in all day Saturday and back in this morning at 5am until 3pm.  We HATE this time of year.  I couldn't even go hunting this year because of the kids.  Someone has to watch them all these crazy hours.   I could go on and on. #RANT #HATEJCP
