Just scored a bunch of green 4'-6' acacia rounds (bout half a cord) for free, from a job sight. I've read it is in the mesquite family though I have no experience with it. The list on the OP says taste like mesquite but lighter. I think mesquite is fine for grilling but too rich and heavy for smoking.I'm hoping its light enough to run through the smoker. Otherwise I'll just use it for camping firewood. It'll be at least 6 months before its dry enough to use, If anyone has any experience with it I'd love to hear it.
