    No fruit on Jalapeno plant?

Just a wild stab in the dark here... but am inclined to think that soil typs have a part to play in what ferts to feed the plants.   As far as using different grow/bloom fertilisers, I am totally sold: High N fertiliser for grow, high P-K values for flowering and fruiting.   At least you've...

Some asshole stole my peppers and tomatoes!!

Dang... sorry to hear that, but go good to see people offering their crop and seeds.   Not being funny or anything, but thank you for sharing your story and reminding everyone that we need to be vigilant.   If you have a sunny windowsill, it might be worth giving it another go using the Kratky...

Datils - Do they point up, or down??

LMAO...       Well, my "Datils" have been relocated and their prime estate is now occupied by a Jays Peach and 2 Dorset Nagas. Fingers crossed they give me something this season... And hopefully my Experimentals will gice me some surprises too.   Feeling very peeved... :mope:

Datils - Do they point up, or down??

I got mine flown in from Florida too. I had thought that the plant's growth pattern was suspiciously Annuum like, but I had given it the benefit of the doubt.   Anyhoo, at least I have some hawks claw that I had collected seeds personally, and my experimental plants.

Datils - Do they point up, or down??

I have a few datil plants going and of those that have started to fruit, they are pointing straight up rather than hanging down. And they have a rather large non-chinensis looking calyx too. :mope:Is this just a "funky first pods" syndrom? All the other flowers point down and have the normal...

This can not be a "Habanero"!

It was effing-blindingly hot, that's for sure. A bit lemoney but mostly a punch-in-the-face hot that (thankfully) lasted about 10 minutes.   I keep the seeds of the "crazies" from those market boxes. If you are after seeds from the bigger pods, I can send you a few. Drop me a PM. :)

    great foliage but no blooms

I had a great deal of leaves last year but hardly any flowers or fruit. I was using Chilli Focus as nute.   This year hasn't gone that well, but I have managed to reduce the amount of foliage by switching to a highter P-K value fert and so far I have a good amount of flower buds and a few...

breeding Maybe cross pollination can change pods??

Love "Spicey Tomato" sauce, but I gotta agree with you, can't believe that spicy-tomatoes exist either.   I AM actually doing a free-for-all grow - Ghosts, Datils, Habs - as well as random hot mix. Next year's grow should be very interesting.

This can not be a "Habanero"!

Thanks, that could well be... but the chillies here tend to have been imported.   Either way, that thing was sizeable, has bit of a kick followed by a fairly serious throat burn. Needless to say, seeds have been saved for the 2017 season.

This can not be a "Habanero"!

Found this badboy in the box of "habaneros" at my local green grocers, amongst a box of mostly  mixed red habs, some big like congos, some are smaller, round and with more ribs.,, Then there was this badboy.     What do you guys think? It is definitely hotter than the average hab, not floral...

    hydroponic Homemade Hydroponic Nutrients

I used one of those pricey 2-part mixes in my Kratky grow, and it did not work for me. My chillies were laughably stunted.   I now use a off-the-shelf citrus feed at half strength with some Advanced Nutrients additives thrown in. The plants are doing much better. My plants aren't BIG and bushy...

sun Any UK hobby chilli growers hoping for sun, rain, and warmth?

It's alledgedly 22 degrees C at the moment, and supposedly should warm up a bit more.   Not being pessimistic here, but just trying to keep it real... if my habs and datils are only just flowering now, I have 3 weeks in July, August, September and may be a week or 2 in October for them to fruit...

sun Any UK hobby chilli growers hoping for sun, rain, and warmth?

Ugh... tell me about it!   Today is just about "warm" for a day in JULY, and that is really slowing things down for the small scale hobbyist like myself. I just need a few ripe pods from my hotter plants, really not asking for too much, am I?

sun Any UK hobby chilli growers hoping for sun, rain, and warmth?

Hi all, been away from the forum for a bit as the weather has been a bit funky in the south east here. The sun's picked up a bit but so has the rains.   The good news is that the Hawks' Claw and Datil are picking up nicely, and have finally got a few flower buds on them. Even my experimental...
