pics Pics of your apartment balcony/indoor setup?

I saw you had a balcony. I live in a mobile home park and have no room for a garden but I made these brackets to hook onto the back cement wall. You could do the same with your balcony and hang them inside the balcony or over the edge. This picture shows them a little better

New starts for the new year

Not a problem. Even with the troubles I had last year I still got so many peppers I was giving them away. Doesn't take too many to really heat things up. That picture of the overwintered plant is a original red 7-pod . I have high hopes for it this year. I think it is one of my favorite peppers.

    Anyone ever use Silica?

I have seen quite a few potting mix recipes on here that include Greensand which has silica in it. Any thoughts ?

It's been awhile since I have posted on the forum here so I thought I should check in and catch up on what is going on in the pepper world. I have my seeds started and up and growing my overwintered plants are starting to leaf out. I am hoping year 2 will be more productive than year 1 with all...

Freezing... is wind chill a factor?

I live in the agricultural section of Kern county and there are huge amonts of orange trees here. We ocasionally get sub freezing weather here and the farmers use huge fans to circulate the air to prevent frost damage to the orange crop . So I am guessing that a light breerze would actually help...

seeds Seedling Starter Mix or Potting Soil?

Although I am a newer grower this is my experience. Last year I started my plants in jiffy pellets and took some straight into 1 gal pots with potting mix and put others in a 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 by 5" pots with a light, seed starting mix. The ones in the starter mix developed quicker than the ones in...

Sure could use some help ID ing these peppers

Thanks for the info, my chocolate habs didn't germinate either. That is why I went to Hippy seed for the second batch. I had very good germination rates and all have grown true so far. The Naga Morich I am growing from Niel's seeds is tremendously hot.

It will be fun finding out what they are . I am going to grow them at my sons house a few miles away so as not to get any cross breeding. He doesn't grow plants at all and I have heard of useing a fine netting also helps. As I said they are really good tasting just not super hot. Really good in...

Sure could use some help ID ing these peppers

I bought Butch T trinidad scorpions from Hinterland trading company off of Amazon. 2 of them look normal and 2 of them look like the pictures posted. Maybe a couple of seeds fell in the pack or maybe they weren't pure seeds. My second batch of seeds came from Niel Smith, Hippy seed co. and they...

Sure could use some help ID ing these peppers

Thanks for the help. I too am thinking they are a cross of some sort. They are actually very good tasting, sweet and fruity but not near as hot as the Butch T. I have some yellow 7 pot growing also but have yet to get pods, the weather here has been in the 100's most of the month and the pods...
