  • Might rain finally. Then I can set up my rainbarrel, repot all my pitcher plants, and water the peat moss.
My habaneros turn two around now. Still under a foot tall.

    Have you been topping them?

No, rootbound for a year and a half. They should be up to speed in a month or so.
My first reaction to finding a dead white faced hornet probably shouldn't have been "leave it on my dad's chair"

I'd hate to be in your house when you find a dead raccoon on the road...
Noticed a dead pixel. Nothing is more frustrating.

    Not even stage IV cancer?

How's cancer frustrating? It's more an "Oh f**k. I'm gonna die" thing than it is "This incredibly minor thing is pissing me off"
Threaten the peppers. It makes them grow more. I need to find someone who wants twelve or so brain strain oranges in late july to early august.

As my plants got old enough I would spank them or pinch off a small piece and stress them. Tis worked really good for my Jalapeno's.

I think it was just enough stress to get what I wanted...
Gallon sized bag of life sphagnum moss. Will be able to send peat next season in small amounts
Because of research project, I have a 1500 dollar budget to spend on whatever growing supplies I want. This is gonna be great.
REMINDER TO SELF: BRING LAPTOP. If one of you could respond to this so that it leaves a notification that I could use, that'd be great.

Thanks guys. Needed to hand it back.
Aphids inside. One plant, one stem, one flower only. It's not even the one close to the window, so how this happened I have no idea.

Aphids have a flying stage, and their eggs often overwinter in the soil or in plant stems. If they are on one plant, likely they will get to others unless you can isolate that plant. Buglogical.com is one site where you can order ladybugs to wipe out those aphids.

yeah, but this guy was never outside, and wasn't even in soil until a month ago. I have the problem fixed now, but still can't tell how it happened.
Douglah isn't producing because of lack of light. But then goes limp within five minutes of outside and returns to normal when left in the room that's too dark for pods. WTF

Didya harden off slowly in shade outside?

Room it's in is reasonably shady, but has a ton of open windows and skylights that let it warm up. I did find a few aphids that I removed, so maybe it's a bit picky because of that. It seems to be doing well though, so I'll move it back in the more direct sun in a couple days.
How many flowers dropped before I give up on the season. Plant has lost 3 so far.

    cruzzfish
Oh well. The one it did make was great. If I get three or so this year I'll be fine.

Don't relate last year's fail to this year just because you lost 3 flowers, that is nothing lol. We all learn something every year. Think about every step how you manage them, what can you do different to have success with them. Maybe you just over care them.

Ye'd think a book about about how society works would explain that not all white guys are neo nazis, but no. Couldn't stop laughing at how bad a job the book does once I skimmed it.

Of all the things that can escape a pitcher plant AND a sundew, it's a f**king tick. It survived a book and lead ingot smash too.

Used to keep heavy things of the floor without being crushed, so that I can put wheels under them later if I need to. It's a fifteen pound half block spare from that set, so I had to find some use for it. It just happened to be closer than the tweezers.
