Wanting to try out Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH/LEC)

I'm curious if the two different 315w bulbs would make any difference since you are trying to produce peppers.     Pretty cool setup there, I like seeing homemade stuff like that.  I made a cheap insulated box with an 8 bulb T5 to start plants only though.  Was/Still am considering an LEC for...

Wanting to try out Ceramic Metal Halide (CMH/LEC)

I have looked around at those as well but I'm always too cheap to pull the trigger.  I think how much heat they put out and how easy you can regulate temps in your growing area would be something to really consider.  I only hear that they run cooler than higher wattage HPS, but have never heard...

    Windchicken 2016

Great looking trees in that RCW soil!  Not only are the plants looking healthy and fruiting heavy, but those mushrooms jumping out of the mounds are definite proof of the thriving fungal activity below.  There must be miles of mycelium at work decomposing the wood chips in there.  Makes me think...

I'll take one.  Can you do half CARDI half TFM?

    HM01 2016

Everything looks killer, but the tree trunk on that TS CARDI is MEAN! I guess that's life when your have that many pods to hold up and a sleeping gnome in your canopy.  Congrats, all your plants look loaded!

    Marvin's 347 grow 2k16

Cool setup you have going, looks like the pods are rolling in.  The scenery is great looking too, what kind of bike are you riding out there?

    Windchicken 2016

Thanks for sharing those links on RCW.  My search for correct material will begin real soon as it seems this is something that does not happen over night.  The two links cover it pretty well but are there any tips, dos or donts you can think of from your experiences before beginning?    You...

Thanks for all the good info!    Interesting read for sure, but agreed 100%.  Bring on the pods!

media A guide to growing peppers in coco coir

I have started all of my pepper seeds in coco with almost no growing experience and have had great success.  My failures have began when I final plant into containers with the cheapest, worst inert bag soil that compacts into a solid block of near cement.  Lesson learned the hard way on...

    Confirm Jamaican mushroom

The size and shape of the stem and calyx on those are identical.  Thanks for the helpful input!

    Confirm Jamaican mushroom

After reading a few other threads, I am now almost sure this is not a scotch bonnet and leaning toward Jamaican mushroom.  The seed I bought was sold as scotch bonnet, germinates near 100%, and are resilient as can be.  The peppers taste great so I’m not that bothered, but I want to confirm what...

    Juanitos 2016 Grow

Wow, wicked fast growth in that coco.  Pretty cool setup you have going.  Looks like your fert/watering schedule is on point.  In the small amount I've messed with coco in containers, I learned quickly that the watering schedule was way more frequent but once correct the growth rate was pretty...

    alkhall 2016

Great looking setup you have going.  Can't wait to see that spot turn into a massive hedge full of pods.  I've been eyeing those exact brown root pouches for the future, as they seem to be priced better than other fabric pots.  It is still a bit early in the season, but what are your thoughts on...
