    Trinidad & Tobago Varieties review

The Faria is a "common" farmed type, it is a commercial seed used by many farms for general market as it is supposedly robust and a high producer.

chinense Bhuts taking long to germinate

I posted earlier showing pics of Scorpions I grew from seed from TriniHottie, it was the post which included a pic of a local dollar bill. Yes and no, due to the tropical climate here there are a lot of whitefly and bugs which attack the peppers everywhere, its pretty bad by me too since we...

chinense Bhuts taking long to germinate

Its been a while since I have been on these forums. I ordered and put some NMSU Bhut seeds to germinate a few weeks ago, they are taking real long to come up I put 10 seeds and so far only 6 have come up after 2 1/2 weeks If I recall early this year I had done the same and they all germinated...

    Caribbean 100m

Hey Folks, Been away from the Pepper forums for a while, so far it looks like the 100m race might be representative of some of the popular hot peppers (Jamaica, Trinidad) L

    What a Find !

it is supposed to be a bonnet also. My theory is that the real bonnet peppers have the squashed bonnet shape but the crossbreeds etc tend towards a congo/habanero type shape which is where that one is headed

    water the selfwatering container difference

I planted a couple seasoning pepper plants in homemade self watering containers a while back. The growth difference has been significant. Look at this pic of the two plants in the containers and a sibling in a regular pot, all grown in promix.

    Scorpion pic

took a pic of a Scorpion pod, from seeds Trinihottie gave me :) If anything all the pods are pretty much consistent in shape which is a bit strange since most of the peppers I grow have pods of all shapes and sizes.

    What a Find !

not that they are hard to find but I was in the kinda resort area and so had to go to the main town market to find vendors. I also suspect that there is a lot of crossbreeding since many vendors say scotch bonnet but they look like regular trinidad congo peppers and dont have the squashed bonnet...

    What a Find !

Coincidentally I've just returned from a great trip to the north coast of Jamaica. Was a bit of trouble finding scotch bonnets since the markets were a little far away but I got some, the red was hard to find but got one in the beach restaurant. The orange was also harder to find and I only...

    chinense Trinidad Scorpion

promix works great, it is not too dense so the roots spread fast and the plant develops a good base my only problem with it however is that in pots if there is any wind the swaying eventually causes side to side compaction and the entire root/base gets loose in the pot
