Thanks for the reply! Im actually going to be abroad for a year and was purchasing a few ounces (maybe 3.5 ounces in total) from various people and Im hoping thatll last me a while haha
Sorry if this isnt allowed, dont mean for this to be disrespectful either, but is anyone selling an SFRB on the cheaper end ($15 lower), dont have too much money rn sadly but would like to dive into the world of hot peppers!
I dont have compost on hand so would this work?: https://www.menards.com/main/outdoors/gardening/lawn-plant-care/compost-soils-amendments/mushroom-compost-75-cu-ft/2667816/p-1444449052375-c-1463608034794.htm?tid=4656161425491338256&ipos=1
Also, do you think it would smell at all if I keep it...
I was thinking, is it possible to only use peat moss (maybe mixed in with Miracle Gro potting mix), as a medium for smaller pepper plants? My thinking was that I'll move the germinated seeds from the condiment cups/ziplock bags to solo cups filled with peat moss. I'll be using the double cup...
Will do!
Also last question, when do you transplant them? When they start rooting a bit, or do you wait a while after until they start growing their first leaves? Would it be okay to directly put them into a double solo cup w/ ProMix then?
Got it, moved all the containers to a larger surface that is around 83-88. Left some of the bags in the incubator and moved one to a surface that is 85
Decided to test out three options:
1) I keep some Arthropods in an incubator so I put a couple ziplock baggies with seeds in there. Stays around 80-85
2) I put some condiment containers (3 with 5 seeds each) on top of my modem, this gets to around 110 max (is this too hot?)
3) I put some...
Thanks for the reply! I don't have the option of starting them in seed starting mix, only plastic baggie/condiment containers though. But your post did give me an idea about using a sterilite tub and then placing the plastic bags/condiment containers in it!
I'll try this as well!
