Is This Nitrogen or Magnesium Deficiency

Could be from over watering maybe?  That soil looks pretty wet.

Have you calibrated your PH meter recently?  Also, could try lowering that to the 5.7 range.

    health Help! Weird Leave spots

It might be too early to tell, but my new growth is looking better.  I've been running half strength and stopped using grow.  I probably should not have changed two variables at once.     Switched from: 1-1/2-1 tsp Micro-Grow-Bloom 1/2 tsp Calmag+   To: 1/2-0-3/4 tsp GH Flora 1/4 tsp Calmag+

    health Help! Weird Leave spots

I've got a similar issue on my coco plants using GH Flora and Calmag+ at 5.7 PH.  That would support Blister's theory.  Still battling it. I thought it was related to a springtail infestation but now I'm not so sure.  I'm cutting back to half strength for a while to see if anything changes.

    Dan's Coco Log

The plants are growing large in coco, but I'm having a hell of a time with springtails on my Carolina reaper.  They are everywhere in the coco and had a ton of leaf drop.  I've been bottom watering to dry out the top but it doesn't seem to phase them.       Video here...

    Dan's Coco Log

Good to know about the perlite.  I haven't tried straining the coco yet either.     Some of them are overwintered, a few kratky tomatoes, and a mini ebb and flow system with tomato and CARDI Scotch Bonnet.  I overwintered my Thai, Trinidad Perfume, Bishops Hat, Bhut Jolokia, and a few...

    Dan's Coco Log

Thanks Neil!  I started the Reaper in coco first and the Fatali and Brainstrain a few weeks later at the same time.  Its incredible how much faster chili's grow in coco compared to soil.  I am going to try a coco/perlite mix with the Scotch Bonnets.

    Dan's Coco Log

I decided to give coco coir a shot back in January based on all the success that Blister has had and posted on this forum.     This is what I am planning for coco this year: 1x Carolina Reaper (seeds from pepperlover.com) 1x Fatali (seeds from pepperlover.com) 1x Brain Strain (seeds from...

pests Best ways to counter Aphids?

The only thing that worked for me was insecticidal soap, but that's a chemical solution.  It also set my plant back for quite a while.

    media Coco advice

Awesome, thanks for the advice.  I'm not sure why I was under the impression that I needed to flush every few feedings.  I must have mixed coco up with soil.   Color seems to be coming back with more regular feedings.

    media Coco advice

I think you were right, coco was too dry. I just now flushed it with a quart of RO and followed up with a cup of nutrients. Thats the first time ive fed it since transplant 10 days ago. How often do you feed? Im using Roots coco. http://www.planetnatural.com/product/coco-peat/ The nutrient...

    media Coco advice

I did wash it, but probably not the proper way.  I saturated the coco in a bucket with my nutrient solution, let it sit for a while, then squeezed out as much liquid as I could.  I thought this might help pre-charge it.  Next time I expand more, I will use plain water and measure the PPM...

    media Coco advice

This is my first try at growing in coco.  The first picture is the day I transplanted this Reaper from a soil solo cup.  The second picture is today, 10 days after transplant.  I fed it the day I transplanted using the mix below per gallon of RO water and have not touched it since.  The leaves...

    chinense MOA scotch bonnets

I think the main difference is the organization controlling the genetics of the strain.  MOA seeds originated from or are the seeds obtained from the Jamaican Ministry of Agriculture by Steve954 and distributed by Jamison.  I would imagine the Jamaican MOA selects the peppers to propagate...

    chinense MOA scotch bonnets

Juanitos mentioned in his grow thread that CARDI is partnered with the Jamaican MOA and that the MOA lists CARDI as a source for seeds.  So it seems that the CARDI seeds could be an equivalent to the original Steve954 seeds.  If not an equivalent descendant, I would consider the CARDI seeds...
