I can put super hot powder on my food all day but if I throw Louisiana on my hummus I have a long morning in the bathroom

I was confused because watching the video from post #1 he talks about how last year he used a mix of perilite vermiculite and peat.

I'm not super concerned with being able to reuse the mixture. Plus this is specifically for this earth box type grow, not my traditional grow. Will probably look into those nutes though, that's what I've been debating about most.

Perlite base then:
3 part coco coir
1 part perlite
1 part worm castings OR aged rabbit manure
So if I just add perlite to what I said and do more peat? All it needs to to be more airy? Or should I switch to coco coir from peat?
You bottom water with this setup.

I'm considering doing 1/2 peat moss 1/2 composted manure but I'm sure someone would have another good mix. I want cheap though since nutes will be in the water.

Life!
What's a good way to save seeds? I overwintered a plant so I had some other fresh seeds to start, but how would I go about saving seeds like you did?

I just germinated some Jamaican Hot seeds in 10 days. They soaked in 50/50 hydrogen peroxide/water for 10-15 minutes. Then got put on a folded coffee filter and placed in a zip lock bag with a paper towel in it. Placed in my half-assed "grow room" with part of a desk lamp pointing at them...
Are you wanting the current plants to produce pods that you can harvest seeds to grow out this year?
Or trying to cross them this year and grow out the seeds next year?

Thanks. Does make sense. I've been wanting to do a kratky setup but from what I understand you can't refill it, so it's best to do it as large as you can with hot peppers because of the long grow season, which would mean trash can sized. This is a nice in-between from more traditional hydro...
I think my question was just about answered by the previous post, but are the holes in the (was on top, now bottom of soil) lid necessary, other than for the cups?

So I completely forgot to take pictures abs my seasoning was off and on because we used them before I got enough coats on it.
Wife did cook a red sauce in our 10in lodge and it rinsed right off.

Jimmy Nardello are really good, no heat, lots of flavor. Great raw, or in cooking. Wife baked them with sweet potatoes, asparagus, garlic and butter and they were amazing.
