    Nutrient Question

Keep away from light and preferably refrigerated. Otherwise algae slime will start eating the nutes.

    Help with these gnats!!

From what I understand, fungus gnats are there because there is food attracting them. By food, I mean perfect conditions such has water logged soil that create fungus & rotten roots.   Reset the soil with H2O2 then maybe keep the soil humidity lower? I never really worried a lot with gnats...it...

Thanks for the link. It's in my bookmarks      PH raised a bit from 5.8 to 6.0 and PPM under 600...we'll see how it goes!

My peppers are getting fancy at what they eat.

Yes, never ran full strength... 800 ppm was around 65% of "recommended" dose. Nutes are expensive paid 120$ CAD for a gallon jug...*sigh*...it will last a while though.   Already lowered ... it's a wait game.   Thanks.

    Flowering chilies

They are not sensitive but don't go on 24/7 always on light cycle neither. Peppers need a break (not for long though) .   Clueless Wanderer.....I have some academic papers links lying around if you need to know more about optimal light cycle.

harvesting Harvest? - Harvest as they ripen or wait and do all at once?

Yes...BUT it need to have very good condition around them...heat & A LOT of light and ventilation (self-polinating) otherwise they will stay dormant without any flowers or they will drop.     Harvest when they are ripen DO NOT wait for the others otherwise they will overripe / rot.   As long...

My peppers are getting fancy at what they eat.

Could phosphorus toxicity cause this? I am wondering this because I am using a bit more PH down (Phosphoric Acid) than last year and the bloom formula is already high in P. Does it interact with calcium? It's hard to do proper research...most hydro stuff are 420 related. Calcium is not that much...

fertilizer fish tank water for fertilizer?

By the look at those "cupped" leaves...they lack calcium. I wont hurt to make them produce at optimal rate by correcting the deficiencies. Impressive bush nonetheless!

My peppers are getting fancy at what they eat.

I read more about hot peppers in hydro environment. From what the interweb says 850 ppm is really nothing most hot peppers have a range of 1500-2500 ppm before showing signs of nutes burns.    Anyway the TDS has been lowered i'll wait a week to compare.

My pepper plants growing very slow

LED are cheaper to run than halogen...also 60F is not warm..it will also slow down the growth. Can you bring them inside the house where it's warmer?   Otherwise they might not grow a lot but they will kick again at full speed when you bring them outside for the next summer!   Most guys who...

That would make sense... I will try lowering to 650 ppm and see. I don't have any burn leaves tip otherwise I would have known right away.

My peppers are getting fancy at what they eat.

Hello pepper fanatics,   I'm growing my peppers in hydro (coco coir + drain to waste) but this year batch is acting funny. The only difference from last year is I control them better at what they "eat".  :)   Here the procedures I do:   PH/TDS checked every two days with probes calibrated...

    Some leaves don't look ok...

Definitively a "sunburn"...nothing alarming. I find that some variety get these purple marks easier than others. This is just the way plants deal with excessive light.

nutrients Ghost peppers nutes and fruits

Grow tents are... IMO... a must in indoor environment.   You can create a micro-climate and control it perfectly at low running cost. Concentrate all the light in one space. Try that with a big open space i.e. garage.         Cost of building a fully automatic 2x4x5 tent (light, temperature...

hydroponic New User -Hydropnics - many more flowers than peppers..

6h to 22h ... so 16hrs...pepper can work with 24/7 lights unlike cannabis plants...I just feel there's more energy wasted.   I start the plants (20) indoor with no rush for pepper production so I didn't calculate the PAR values per sq.ft.    I use 2x Mars 300W LED Grow Light (which in reality...
