    Plant size for 3 months?

My plants in pots seem to be smaller than ones in the ground.

In the grpound or leave in pots ??

A few years back I planted some peppers in the ground and some in pots. The peppers in the ground grew much better and produced more peppers.

Help me before my season is ruined

Tap water, even city water that's been treated, won't hurt your plants. I'd save your money on the distilled water, stop using fertilizer, and just use tap water as needed.

How are everyone's plants doing in this heat?

I don't get it but mine are rockin' out despite the terrible weather. Weather in Cincinnati has been hot and humid, but peppers are doing great. Everything is poppin'--picked my first ripe Bhute Jolokia yesterday and man was that thing hot. I planted large hot cherry plants and they are...

    Too short and bushy???

My pepper plants were bushy before I transplanted them into my garden and I had same concern as you. I grew under floro lights for about 2 months. I'm getting a ton more peppers on my bushy plants than the non-bushy ones. Seems like the peppers are produced at the joint between two branches...

health Spots on leaves and leaves falling off

Any ideas what this is? Could it be bugs? I though maybe a fungus so I did spray with a fungicide. I haven't spotted any bugs other than the ones pictured below. I have a lot of these, but I think they are good?

pics Pics of your growing setups

I went simple. 3 two bulb 48" T8 fixtures. I've found 6500K lights are best for seedlings. 1 18" X 24" (approx) heating mat. One power strip. One mylar "emergency blanket". The lights hang from large hooks screwed into joists in the basement ceiling. I can adjust the height of the lights...

    Weeds

How do you guys keep the weeds down in your pepper garden? I'm having issues with some type of grass growing in my garden. I've been pulling a lot out every day but just can't seem to stay ahead of it. Do some use herbicides? what type? do some just pull and bear it?

    What type of pepper?

I agree. This is the reason for my question. I'm wondering if PepperJoe sent me some type of hybrid. To me it looks like it may be some type of tai sun pepper hybrid. But I don't know. Maybe tai sun cross with florescent purple?

    What type of pepper?

last time I tasted one was last year. I don't remember what I had for breakfast today so unfortunately I don't remember what it tasted like last year :( other than that they were medium heat--maybe a little hotter than a Jalapeno. They do have a lot of seeds in them.

    What type of pepper?

What type of pepper is this? It was sold to me as a Bolovian Rainbow Pepper but I do not believe it is a Bolovian Rainbow. Plant characteristics: - Peppers start purple and mature to bright red - Peppers grow upright - Pointy shape - Smooth and thin skin - Medium heat - mature...

    Relative growth/health.

Is it common for a hybrid to demonstrate aggressive growth relative to it's non-hybrid parent?

    Relative growth/health.

So this fall if I save seeds from the best plants then I would be perpetuating the stronger strain. And let the week ones die.

    Bushy plants

It seems some of my peppers are bushing out instead if growing up. Does rhe type of pepper affect heighth/growth rate? My tallest plant is 12" and shortest is about 4". Is this a reason for concern? Some of the new leaves seem small and tough and some seem normal. Could this be from too...

    Relative growth/health.

Is a large variation in plant size normal? Within the same pepper type I see large size/health variance between plants. I have a row of 9 habanero plants and the range in size us from a couple of inches to a foot tall. Same with my bhutes. Moat are pretty small but two that seem much...

    Planting in plastic dixie cups.

I didn't poke holes in mine and they turned out fine. I put about sixty in plastic cups. I planted about 40 in jiffy cardboard cups. The plants in the plastic cups did much better.

    Planted 5-21

Another 2" since late last night. Seems like about 4-5" of rain in the last 8 hours. I sure hope peppers are strong and line a lot of water. Too bad my run-off feeds the Ohio river. The folks down south can plan on keeping the floodgates open a bit longer. I've never seen rain like...

Quarter size hail tore up a handful but they should recover. Lost one---hail broke it in half.

    Planted 5-21

Too bad we got 3 inches of rain....in the last hour. I'm not sure if my garden looks more like a river or a lake.
